Found out about Photoshop's Timeline feature and wanted to try a hand at animating something small.

Its not the best, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Mad respect to the people who do this regularly this is mega tedious and hard.

Most people who animate regularly don't use Photoshop for it lol. I say this as someone that used to use Photoshop's timeline feature to animate pixel art and make gifs in the old days. Don't get me wrong, I'm practically married to Photoshop at this point, but it is FAR from the best tool when it comes to animating.

And while animating things is tedious no matter what, once you learn a few tricks/shortcuts (onion skinning blew my mind when I first found it), you can put together short animation loops in just a few minutes to an hour.

This looks fantastic btw, real smooth. The dithering I know wasn't a style choice when exporting this, but it's ok, not too jarring. Keep up the good work, bro!

ah, thanks! yeah photoshops timeline window was a nightmare to navigate.

as for the dithering, I think its just what happens when I made the decision to convert the video into a GIF, might replace it.
