First, this is a commission done for me by the amazing  MementoMori! He's one of my favorite artists for mawshots, always making them look so inviting, and Akira here proved to be no exception~ And hey, look at that glow effect around the image! I've seen MM's other mawshots, they don't typically have that. It's pretty unique to Akira, I think. As if he's using that hypnotic gaze to lure you into his throat~ There's even little hearts there, guiding you riiiight where he wants you to be...

I've been meaning to flesh Akira out more this year. Even if it ends up just behind-the-scenes stuff, I want to make him feel more like his own character in my head, with his own personality and goals, so he feels less like "Kaishi but hypnotist". Things that will let him be more independent, instead of just tagging along with Kaishi or running the Hungry Fenghuang. What better way to start that process of fleshing-out than getting his obligatory Ittsuverse Character Mawshot?~

This picture was done a couple days ago, but I wanted to hold onto it because I have decided on January 23rd as Akira's birthday! I'm thinking maybe he's a year older than our favorite green bean, but I haven't settled on that yet - could be the same year. (Of course, either way still means he was born in the late 1970s.)

I have a story in the works, because this picture is so good it gave me brainrot to feed this boy, but as usual for me, it is becoming much longer in terms of word count and time than I anticipated. Still, I think I'm cooking some serious gourmet shit, even if it's entirely self-indulgent.
