“S-stop!! Please spare her, I beg you!”
Grovelled the shivering mouse with a pathetic squeak, his voice quavering in a whimper of fearful protest at the torment he was forced to witness. The meek male cowering in his cage like some distraught animal, barely offering much more than his unassertive bleating, much less the helpless begging his feline captor so craved. The cruel cat instead more focused on his unfortunate friend, leaving him no choice but to clutch the bars of his prison and nervously speak up, in a desperate if fleeting attempt at stopping his mewling companion from becoming a bite-sized snack for the towering mouser menacing her.

The cat holding the wriggling white rodent between her fingers like a quivering appetizer, allowing her to stare down the dark chute that would serve as the precipice for her digestive doom. The back of the narrow oesophagus visibly twitching, as if dry running the single rolling undulation that would be necessary to carry the feline’s petite prey item down to the stomach to stew, like any other flavourful morsel of meat that transitioned past the ravenous kitty’s tonsils. The frightened female fated to be food, and worse of all he was powerless to prevent the moggies’ sadistic machinations, but even so he tried, as he couldn’t stand the sadistic spectacle he had a front-row seat to. His beseeching snivelling going unheeded, leaving his heart to sink, as he saw the dangling damsel drop between the feline’s parted lips, leaving her to be sealed in darkness by the staccato click of teeth that were as pearly as they were sharp, before the cat turned her attention back to her vocal second toy.

“Oh?”

“Are you willing to die for her, then?”

“I’ll let her go mouse, but only if you willingly feed yourself to me.”

Queried the cat with her normal menace, even if her words were slightly slurred as her cheek bulged around the writhing lump of fidgeting mouse flesh currently occupying her mouth. The dominant feline ignoring the stifled squeals coming from within her damp maw, as at this point the mouse pressing against her molars was just a moist ball of bundled-up calories, unable to do much more that ineffectually twitch, before her tongue gave her the small nudge necessary to send her into the oscillating snare of the waiting gullet. The ivory mouse more focused on not drowning in the copious amount of drool now drenching her spittle-matted coat, lubricating her for the terminal trip down the tight throat that was palpitating against her worming tail. The buck expecting an audible gulp at any moment, so with a reluctant nod he accepted the cat’s ultimatum to take the doe’s place as dinner.

The cat seeming to mull his surrender for a moment with an insidious glee, before with a wet “Ptoo!” she soggily spat out the saliva-soaked rodent she had been swilling in her gob with a fleshy splat. The gasping doe landing hard in the bottom of the gage, taking a deep lungful of cool air now that she was free from the steamy blackness of the sweltering sarcophagus, she had thought she would spend the rest of her short life entombed within. The diminutive lady given but a brief reprieve, though she was barely given a few seconds to savour her stay of execution, before the cat reminded the reunited pair, of the buck’s little deal with the devil who was now towering over them with a wicked look her face.

“Tie him up,… tightly. If I am able to break him loose our deal is off,” commanded the cat, as she casually tossed a length of string in front of the sugar-coloured doe, before she could regain her composure and realize the magnitude of what her friend had truly agreed to. The barely able to hear the order over the sound of her own hammering heart wubbing in her ears, as adrenalin flooded her shivering system in the lurching aftermath of her consumptive close encounter. The woman inundated with fear, as she had no time to regain her composure before being thrust into another trial from her taunting oppressor. A smirk on the larger carnivore’s face, as she seemed to get a sick kick off the coerced duo’s capitulated compliance.

The domineering feline savouring the sad scene, as she found it simply delectable to play with her food. Her emerald eyes brushing over her trembling captives as she generously granted them a few short seconds for their goodbyes before the time came for the bold if foolish buck to take the terminal trip down her throat to the tart tomb of her tummy.
If she had cared she might have heard the tawny rodent whisper into the doe’s ear as he embraced her, as the heavy hug of an intimate embrace carried just long enough for him to mumble his consent for the madness, he had resorted to in order to secure the survival of at least one of them.

“Do it, please… one of us needs to survive,” he said as clear as a sparrow’s song, imparting his last gut-wrenching gift, before his clinging clasp lingered a moment too long, and reality parted the pair to the petty whims of the natural food chain…….
