“S-so you’re Miss Rava?” you asked shyly, even as the fennec tugged you inside, using your tie as an impromptu leash. Her cottage was fennec-sized, so you had to bend over to fit inside.
The fennec patted you on the hand reassuringly. “Call me Piper, dear! And you must be my dinner for tonight!” She paused. “You are from Voredash, right? I’d hate to eat another over-polite postman by mistake, it takes ages to get my mail delivery sorted out again.”

Piper is sweet but she doesn't really see humans as PEOPLE. She's well-meaning but old-fashioned in that way!
