Ever noticed how in a lot of dragon-prey-centric images, if the prey isn't an established OC or 'sona, the dragon of choice is more often than not a male red one? Why is that, do people just have something against em? I don't get it man XD
...oh right right, the drawing. more important than my tangent.
Delicious in Dungeon's red derg was pretty cool, I loved his design! It would be sacrilege for me NOT to draw something with it!
..How Gen was able to find her way this deep in the dungeon is anyone's guess. Ah well, maybe she'll get to say hi to Falin for a little bit. <:3
..also i need to give her a fantasy outfit that ISN'T explicitly her FT-AU one, lol
Overall i'm very happy with how this one came out! Getting the dragon's face right was tough but I really wanted to make sure it matched how it looked in the anime..mission accomplished uwu
enjoy~!

But since no one could get here to save you any time soon, you will still slowly get digested, and completely churned into nutritious slush when he wakes up.

I think it is because people default to male. There is not much reason female and male dragons should look that different to humans.

IMO I think dragoness prey is severely underrated, although I mayyyy be biased there.
I already like female prey as is since I can relate to em more, but having the "strong pred-adjacent thing being eaten" aspect added onto that honestly is something I can fully get behind. XD

I think that red dragons in particular just have a special place in the general western mythos...
Delicous in Dungeon has turned out to be everything I wanted from the anime when I started reading the manga way back when. Love seeing it get some love.
Hopefully Gen is properly seasoned.

Still, sucks having an oddly specific pred archetype that you like be shoehorned into prey roles often because "muh subversions" or whatever XD
Delicious in Dungeon has been a fun ride and I'm glad that the second cours is already here! We won't have to wait a long-ass time >u>
....and no I am not seasoned at all, I AINT EVEN THAT TASTY ALL OF THOSE ALLEGATIONS ARE LIES ;V;

So they are eating you because they like the taste of your clothes?

Yeahh, I get what you mean. Dragons, especially red ones for whatever reason, make such great predators and it's always a little weird seeing them on the other side. It CAN work, I'll admit, but subversion of expectations solely for the sake of subverting expectations isn't the best approach.
Oh, just you wait, it gets BETTER and MORE CRAZY. They eat NIGHTMARES (and I don't mean another horse-type monster) at one point. Maybe not this season though, I can't remember exactly when that happens..
Hm...hundreds of predators can't be wrong. Maybe it's the vanilla-scented shampoo. Or maybe somebody's sprinkling you with salt and pepper in your sleep.

Amazingly well done maw and tongue. Dragon preds with female prey's always a favorite.
As for why it's always a red male dragon, I guess it's easy to default to male for dragons. Though in earlier canon sources of D&D, Red dragons are cited enjoying the taste of humans and elves, particularly young women.
