2 “A Tasteful Interview”

Getting
ready the following morning, Rez stopped at the mirror one last time
to check his appearance. After last night he wasn’t sure if there
was going to be any kind of dress code, so he just decided on a pair
of loose fitting jeans and a clean black t-shirt. His hair was still
in a state of complete disarray, but the just woke up look was still
in style so he just fluffed it a bit with his fingers. Wit

Chapter 1 - ``A Good Opportunity''
Written by: The Sunrise Moose
Unemployment wasn't all it was cracked up to. Sure you could sleep in as much as you wanted, and catch up of hours of missed gaming, but once your cash flow ran out you were pretty much boned. Such was the case for Rezin Sheppard, a 22 year old college drop out living in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Known by his friends as ``Rez'' the human boy lived in a small two bedroom apartment with a good friend from high

Chapter 1
At 9:30 am
there was a knock on the door that stirred Brad from his sleep.
Grumbling to himself a bit under his breath, he slipped out of bed.
Slinging on his robe as he slowly makes his way across his dimly lit
first floor apartment to the front door. Undoing the series of locks,
without even bothering to look who it is he flings the door open.
Giving the delivery boy a bewildered glare as his eyes adjusted to
the early morning sunlight.

Vilkas looked around to
the most recent fleshy prison. He was kind of glad at the same time
though, it was rather cold in the water any ways and inside the seal
it was hot.
“This is getting
ridiculous.” Vilkas said quietly as he continued to just sit there
and survey his surroundings.
He was glad the Seal
seemed to at least be staying in the same position, for it made it
easier to get a good look at finding his way out. Looking up he could
see the end of the throat, closed tightly and se

Apparently the fish
that had eaten him had in turn been eaten itself. Though the thought
was somewhat funny to think of, at the same time it didn’t comfort
Vilkas at all, cause now he was just stuck in something else.
Vilkas looked around
at the pale stomach walls around him, wondering what he was in now.
Obviously it was something big enough to have eaten the fish whole,
but other then that there wasn’t much he could tell.
With a slight shrug
Vilkas readied his sword again, no point in w

Scent of a Monster
The
eastern clouds are already light when I reach the tree, the old
gnarled banyan or ‘watching oak’ as the villagers call it. The
dark ascent has left me gasping, and I pause a moment under its
tangled branches to catch the last of the night air. My palm
unthinkingly massages a buttress root in a spot worn smooth by
countless past travelers. I take one glance over my shoulder then
pass beneath the lowest limb. I enter the safe zone.
The
tree is my mile post; soon I c

Themselves.
The disappearances had
started at least month ago. The mog could remember rather clearly,
the day that Teio stopped coming to class. Sitting at his desk and
watching the empty desk just near his, wondering quietly if the hare
had forgotten to call in sick whilst the teacher ran through the
attendance roll, pausing at the same name to query the lapine's
absence.
Continuing to walk down
the pavement, he looked over the fliers he'd made u

It was a peaceful afternoon in the
forest. The sun shown brightly. The birds sung. A gentle breeze
danced in the air. “Mmmm. . .” A large python lazily stretched
his coils. He’d lay calmly on a warm rock, peering out over the
tranquility. A long sigh could be heard, “Wisssh. . . Lichthia
wasss here. . .” It had barely been a day since he last saw his
friend, a small mouse. A friend who only visited with absent
temptation. When unsated for too long, his primal urges made getting

Staff in her paw, the mouse yawned as
she worked her way up the hill towards the secret entrance of her
burrow. She hadn’t slept well, and was tired, but that didn’t
mean she wasn’t cautious; after all it was critical to be sure one
wasn’t being followed anytime one returned to one’s burrow. She’d
peer about, before making her way to the entrance. She was looking
forward to seeing Jack again. After a night in Morathi’s lair, she
craved some fuzzy bunny goodness. And she felt a litt

“Thisss way. .

the trees. It was a common route for him. A path he took. . . when
hunting. He’d slither along and smile to his two companions, a
mouse and rabbit, both hopping and walking on opposite sides. He’d
taste the air as they moved, his tongue flickering. This was
certainly not a place a rabbit or mouse should be. Jaabir could sense
all manner of creatures that had been by recently, some of which he’d

Jack,
the lapin variant, would be a short distance away from his friends,
digging a hole. The presence of the others would be out of his mind
now, however, as dirt piled around him. He’d make some decent
progress by the time Lichthia arrived. The rabbit would pause his
digging and sniff, nibbling at an uncovered root. Having
spied the rabbit, the mouse would silently approach him. She’d
kneel to the side of him, watching him dig, leaning against her
staff. She took a certain vicarious pleasu

would creep into the serpent’s nest. As the light met his eyes,
Jaabir would wake up gently. He’d look down to find the two
rodent’s nestled against him. If he didn’t wake up once already
he might have been very confused. Instead his mind was already pretty
well caught up with him. He’d yawn some and smile, evidently the
rabbit didn’t get frightened enough to want to climb out. . . and
the mouse wanted to join him: the first was a little more surprising
than the second.

It
was early morning, the sun just now in consideration of peeking out,
having stayed hidden in the night. Jack, a brown lop-ear, could
relate. The rabbit had just stirred awake and passed his eyes over to
the entrance of den, peering out at the sky. He’d give a tiny yawn
and turn his head, though reluctantly. The bunny had spent a few
nights now in the snake’s nest, usually he would have heard
Lichthia by now. Yesterday she woke up long after him and and Jaabir,
leading Jack to be fret for
