The night sky was pitch black, all stars gone and their light with them. A great wind whipped at the land, screaming through hills and raising hell, ripping branches from trees and throwing them to the ground. Rain smashed into the road, waves of water rolling across the asphalt and off the path. Thunder boomed and lightning split the heavens, the only light to illuminate the road ahead.
