The parking lot was as empty as it was dark.

most of the nearby streetlights broken and just a couple cars left, Frank felt like he was walking through the set of a post-apocalyptic movie

the nearby building’s windows and the dull orange glow bouncing off of the clouds above

stumbled across the hallway,

get to

her room

as silently as she could

Waking the whole building up was the last thing she needed.

Beth woke up to the sound of a door opening. Most of the other passengers were already up, gathered in small groups while trying to find something to do in the mostly empty box.

The only furniture (if it could even be called that) in it were a bunch of pieces of sponge acting as beds and around two dozen toothpicks stuck to the floor to be used as benches.
