Kerry could hear muffled voices on the other side of the shifting walls. Muffled and distorted by the layers of muscle and fur that surrounded him, and almost completely drowned out by the liquid noises, he could make out that there were words, but not quite what was being said. “Someone! Please? Help me!” he wailed as his nose went under the acids for what felt like the hundredth time. No one answered of course. Why would they, even if they could understand him more clearly than he could them? He certainly wouldn’t have started a fight against a sated fox to save someone he didn’t even know. Still, he struggled back to the surface and cried out to them again anyway, not so much out of any genuine hope as the natural reaction of a mind reaching its limit..

No reply. He kicked the stomach walls around him, and felt a little shiver of pleasure run through his predator’s body. That was the only response his fighting seemed able to cause. The walls around him shifted and swayed from side to side as her felt her walk down the bus’ aisle, rubbing against his burning skin and removing a few more clumps of fur from his body.

“Someone? I’ll do anything?” he sobbed helplessly, but it was useless and he knew it. The only response came from the vulpine’s stomach walls, which pushed him back under the thick stew of acid and fur, and attempted to keep him there.

Getting back to the surface was harder this time. His body was wearing down and her stomach was getting more eager to finish this. Even when he managed it, the air his lungs were rewarded with was stale and flat.

He could hear someone talking nearby, hear his predator respond to them. The exact words were still unintelligible, but it sounded like daily chatter, the casual conversation of those whose lives still mattered and who would continue to exist beyond the next few minutes.

The fox turned slightly as a low vibration signalled that the bus engine had started, and the thick soup sloshed around Kerry’s head once more. He could feel her stomach preparing to push him under again. Would he still have the strength to fight his way back to the air this time? Not that it really made any difference. If he did, the process would just happen again, and again, until he inevitably failed. One way or another, the vixen would be making the commute back home with a far less squirmy belly than when she set out.

Thanks, really glad you liked it. And yeah, things are pretty hopeless for Kerry at this point.

That's definitely why I drive to work. Public transport is dangerous man

Depends on your outlook, I guess. Some might say that it's a dangerous nightmare but, to others, public transport is filled with opportunities to get a really good start to your day.

Ooh, and I'm from LA so i like to get inspiration for random art just by people watching. I wont deny that

I'm so happy the prey is a bunny! They're the best food, in my biased opinion.

This is a great, vivid description of a prey's experience through their pred's everyday life.

Yeah, rabbits are usually my go to species for prey characters. I definitely have a soft spot for those ears and overall they just make really good prey.

Well. At least he didn't have to buy a ticket. It's a scam, really.

Lovely work! And it looks like the fox isn't the only one who's eaten recently.

Yeah, and yet he seems completely unappreciative. At least the other passenger getting to ride for free doesn’t seem to be actively complaining anymore.

Holy fuck! It's so exciting to see you drawing and writing in this setting again. The image is amazing, so much detail, and so elaborate, the advertisements for both preds and prey is a nice touch, really emphasizes the fact that these natural rivals must live side by side in discordant harmony. And the writing is fantastic, reminds me why you are probably my favourite core writer I have read. I love the three different perspectives for the three different versions of this image, how it shows the different experiences of people in each position in this scenario. Just amazing!

Thank you very much. I'm really glad you liked it, and yeah, I've always loved settings where predators and prey can interact with each other in more everyday ways as well as in their respective roles in the food chain.
