I definitely prefer your fully rendered style, but that's not to say this is bad. This is still excellent, and I would love to see more pieces done like this. Would you consider doing commissions in this style? It seems like it could be a less expensive alternative for people like me who would love to purchase a commission from you but can't afford your usual artstyle.

i prefer render the faces look a little off
Posted by BIGBIG 4 months ago Report
Which ones? If youd point out that would be great.

I think it's because the characters are loosely based on Dr. Suess characters, some of them carry over the cartoony style of his books. I don't think it's an issue with the artstyle itself.

lower left it is
Posted by 3DayTripper 4 months ago Report
I'd say that lower left face is actually pretty accurate to how she looks in the movie tho, lol. Whos look bizarre.

Its not a particualr charcter from the movie but it is way more closer to their "anatomy" for sure. which makes it a preference really.

I don't know if you've watched Jim Carrey's live-action The Grinch movie, but this was obviously based on the appearance of the Whos in that movie—where their noses are typically very high up compared to their mouths as adults (and perhaps teenagers?). Of course, this uncanny appearance in the live-action movie is based on Dr. Suess's iconic style, especially when depicting the characters he deemed "Whos." In other words, this facial structure was depicted on purpose to capture the Who facial structure, especially in the movie.
I'd recommend watching it, by the way! It was incredibly humorous and had an amazing plot!

Sorry, this might have come across as more passive-aggressive or outright aggressive than I intended. I intended to say this in an informative and neutral tone (including the first sentence since I genuinely don't know if you've watched it, but to those who definitely have, it's obvious to them what it's supposed to be). I apologize.

Bigs me boy thank you for this delightful Christmas gift!
Love the story book style you went with, the who's have been feasting this year!

In terms of just producing fast content i like the sketch style. Have you considered posting your warm ups from time to time? Those are cool too. I honestly wouldn't mind if you decided to make your paid content highly rendered while your more casual/free/low effort content is just sketch, and flat colors.

I think even without rendering here you manage to really do a great job capturing anatomy and expression. It kind of reminds me of your early work, since usually your backgrounds nowadays are so incredibly detailed!

I like this style a lot. I dig the cartoony faces too (the one on the bottom left is NO exception!!), cause they seem more expressive..? I dunno.
Sometimes I used to feel like your chars have the same face, but lately you've gotten SO good at giving everybody different faces! Mad props

I love the sketch style! Even better than the rendered
Posted by Z456ir89 4 months ago Report
I really like it! Especially if it means it would be easier for you to put more art out. More BIGBIG is always a plus! (I still love the fully rendered look too, but I think this works well for quicker pieces)

Both, both is good!

I like renderered because i like Photorealistism, however if speed quality trade off and sketchy is fine if u can output them faster it okay but i want rendered every so often
Posted by TheFattyMirror03 4 months ago Report
I mean, I do believe that you can use this style when the idea needs to be Draw as fast as possible before you lost It on your brain.
I dont see the bad thing to use this style from Time to Time

The grinch would be a very different movie with bigbig as director.
