Take some time off, time for yourself, time to spend around other people, but always remember something. Remember that this community was made better for your having been part of it. If you choose to leave for good, that’s okay. If you choose to come back, we will all be overjoyed. Thank you for everything that you HAVE done so far. What matters the most is you, your mental health, your stability. A lot of us have experienced spirals, and for some of us a way out has been escapism into your comics and art like it. I understand that cannot be the case for you for various reasons, but I hope you can find solice knowing you’ve helped others out of similar situations. Take all the time you need, you deserve it.

However and whatever that looks like, never feel that you're compelled to do anything that doesn't sit right with you. I am extremely sorry you feel that way, and I say that as someone who disagrees with you immensely on social issues, as far as I can tell. You‘d probably count me as one of the atheist cultists you write about. Knowing that I know you probably won’t give much thought to what I say, but I wanted to write it anyway: I think your views on social issues might be harming you, especially socially. I don‘t know exactly what it is you believe now, I only read some stuff about your discord server a while back. But I can imagine that it might be alienating to a lot of people, especially in artist circles. I‘ll just say it plainly: I think it would help you to reconsider some perspectives, some beliefs.
In any case, take care. Better times are coming.

I'm sorry to read you're having such a rough time.
Please try and get in touch with a professional, for various reasons I was against going to therapy myself, but I was fortunate to find someone that was easy to talk to, and honestly, I've been feeling better. My problems haven't gone away after a few sessions, but I'm better able to articulate them and start thinking about solutions.

I will always enjoy your works, and miss you if you don't come back but at the end of the day you have a life to live and you are your own person, with different dreams and desires and if taking a break or moving on is what is best for you then so be it.

It saddens me greatly to hear that you're having a rough time, I've enjoyed your artwork greatly ever since I discovered VWD here somewhere mid-chapter 1.

I understand if you feel disillusioned and burnt out with how the online art community is right now, it's not the weird and wacky 90's anymore, social media has quite literally turned most online communities into toxic cesspools full of very vocal and VERY TOXIC people.
If you feel that need to step away from it all, then you should, I can't honestly say I blame you for wanting to do so.

Just please know this;
All of us here are rooting for you.
Depression is a bitch to deal with, and I honestly hope that you're able to plant a bare-knukled fist right in it's gloomy face.

Maybe you just need to find the correct people to connect. Try to get out of your confort zone as much as possible, get a new job, study something new, move to a new house. Sometimes a big change is just what we need to find a new path in life, and maybe even a partner.

Artca is clearly having a bad time and kicking them in the teeth, now of all times, doesn't feel appropriate.

Lets assume everything in that link is true, without further verification.
Okay, sure, those views are, er, probably somewhat inaccurate (I say, euphemistically). Is this an avenue to even broach the possibility of changing some of their views?

Would you want to even CONSIDER talking to people who does this to you because of the views you hold? Ironically, this literally confirms a view that such a person might hold. "If you speak out they will suppress you!" (or some variant thereof).

I'm not suggesting to just hide or ignore it. More... maybe create a more tactful dialog?
Would it not be better if we fix the issue instead of just more radically dividing everyone.

I dunno... I don't want to live in a word with various groups of people hating each others guts...
The conspiracy theorist in me says that its extremely useful for some unsavory characters that we are getting so radically divided.
