WARNING // This story is dark. It contains graphic digestion-- meaning that there are blatant descriptions of blood, gore and extreme physical pain. The vore in this story is fatal. It revolves around a tragic and potentially upsetting premise, and incorporates elements of psychological trauma. The predator is male (albeit a feral monster), and the prey is female. If you are uncomfortable with any or all of these things, do not read this story.
---
While this is technically a fandom story from the Monster Hunter universe, it does not require any real degree of knowledge regarding the series. Please do not feel as though you have to know anything at all about MH in order to read it!
I began writing this with a couple intentions in mind-- to write something about Zinogre as a predator (because I really love him, okay? Geez), and to incorporate the introductory sequence from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. I found that particular video, and the beginning premise of that game in general, to be an excellent launching point for what I wanted to do. I would strongly recommend that you watch that video; the initial events of the story will likely be easier to envision, since what I'm describing is more or less exactly what happens in the clip:

I must admit that the end result of this project is more depressing than I had anticipated. It does not place much focus at all on the predator's perspective, which is something I did occasionally in "Punishment"; it is almost entirely based around the introspection of the nameless protagonist. While the character was pretty obviously intended to be Ceru, I elected not to dictate her identity-- so, essentially, she isn't Ceru unless you want that to be the case, and if you don't then you can freely imagine her as some other blonde chick. Regardless, just as I relish drawing depictions of powerful emotions, I relish capturing them in my writing... I feel like this is a good example of just how intense I like characters' feelings to be.
For those of you who enjoy my bloody descriptions: there isn't as much graphic digestion detail in this one as there was in "Punishment", and I am sorry about that, but I hope that the protagonist's horrible injuries make up for it. ♥
Additionally, since I didn't include any gratuitous descriptions of the actual monster despite him being a very specific creature, here's a visual (not my art, obviously!):

Yay! A new story from you! I must say great job, that monster is by far one of my favorite monsters in the games! Great story!!

I apologize that I don't write enough; inspiration for stories really doesn't come to me very often and I have a difficult time finishing them even when it does. So I'm glad that I could finish something for people like you who like my writing, and especially glad that it's something you can enjoy. I'm admittedly happy to find other people who play these games. Because they're awesome. >>;

They are amazing games! It is quite alright with not getting any inspiration for stories, I understand you there, I just recently posted a story, my first story. I am trying to think of a sequel for it, but its hard to come up with ideas.

You! You, you and your monster hunter. Y'damn kids, always playing it up, in them vidja....games..okay no in all seriousness. Why is there not more monster hunter vore, I mean those beasts are just so...Pardon my language, they are friggin majestic. You never disappoint me when I see content go up, it's not just the things like violence and graphic digestion, you shouldn't worry about lacking those. Simply because you have this way of capturing the scene. All I can say is, this story makes me desperately want to play the new MH. As for capturing the beauty and awe of a creature, born of nature and defying human explanation, you captured that to an utter par, something I felt was only strengthened by the less than well educated locals, referenced by their colorful language. Just something small I picked up on, but this particular story, made me feel quite a few things. >.> And now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

HEY MAN MONSTER HUNTER IS AWESOME B|
I have to entirely agree with that statement though, seriously; considering the nature of the game, it's actually pretty surprising that there isn't more vorish content based around it. I can't help but furiously recommend the new game to you; even though it's essentially MH Tri with a bunch of new stuff, the new stuff really makes it worthwhile in my opinion. Especially some of the new monsters... >___>;
I'm glad to hear that I could capture the sort of aura and power of a creature like Zinogre; I didn't go into as much gratuitous description about him as I could have, so what I did write must have been convincing for you to get the impression you did. And yeah, I kind of had fun writing the dialogue for the villager guy... I doubt the villagers talked like that in the actual game (I can't know, since the game I based it on was MHP3rd, which has not been and will never be ported to the US), but I felt like it was a good attitude to contrast with the protagonist's mild nature.
Thank you for your comments and for reading ;; even if you'll always read my stuff, it still means a lot to me.

Ohhhh me oh my! Doll, this was just a treat to read. I have to say my favourite portion is actually the beginning, enwrapt with inner conflict. The tension captured there is Nommy McNom-nom to take in. And as you know *ahem*, I loves me a good, knowingly futile ladysquirm vs an overwhelming, unrelenting devourer. An' alla thassa in theah.

I'm so glad you liked it! ;> And it pleases me that you enjoyed the tension... I find it difficult to write convincing, compelling build-up to a vore scene oftentimes and that's a lot of the reason I don't write many of my own stories; as such, I'm delighted that you think I've done a good job here. I was really hoping this one would be up your alley, even if it probably isn't for some of my usual watchers.

That was a really intense description of digestion. I really like it, haha. Her thoughts really captured a sense of regret and creeping doom.

Oh, thank you! I personally thought that this story didn't describe the process too gratuitously (compared to my usual writing, anyway), but that's purely in the physical sense; emotions are an entirely different matter. I'm really pleased to hear that you found it to be so powerful and ominous... that tells me that I must have done something right!

Ahhhh yeah, MONSTER HUNTER! XDDD There needs to be more MonHun Vore stuff! :D
Going to write a story about Stygian Zinogre sometime? He'd make an even more terrifying predator methinks. XD
This was a great read though... your detail and the way you described everything made this story quite a surreal read... poetic really.
So yeah, love it! Great job. :D Always glad to meet fellow hunters too~

I do happen to love that subspecies... it's always kind of difficult for me to choose whether I like the subspecies of a monster or the original monster better. But given that this one was based off the premise of Portable 3rd, Stygian wouldn't really have fit. I don't think it's terribly likely that I'll write another story about any Zinogre, unless I could think of a radically different premise and prey character-- but another MH story in general is definitely plausible. I'm a huge fan of quite a few monsters from the game, as well as the game itself.
I only have the 3DS version of 3 Ultimate, sadly; I would probably have asked if you wanted to play sometime, but only the Wii U version has online capabilities. Sad day. :<
My sincere thanks for taking the time to read through this, at any rate! I think "surreal" is a lot along the lines of what I was going for here; I focused a lot on introspection and emotion rather than the physical environment, which is something I like to do normally but went rather over-the-top with in this tale. I'm really happy to hear that you were able to enjoy it so much.

Ah yeah, my pleasure, it was a good read! :D
I know what you mean, there's a lot of cool subspecies. I really like Crimson Qurupeco, Emerald Congalala, Steel Uragaan, Lucent Nargacuga, Glacial Agnaktor, Stygian Zinogre, and Abyssal Lagiacrus... Ivory Lagiacrus is cool too.
I'm really tempted to write my own one-shot Monster Hunter story... not sure what monster I'll use though... either A.Lagiacrus or Savage Deviljho... Nibelsnarf would be appropriate for vore, but... the name... it's just... hehehehe... aw gee, but maybe I can actually use that... have the hunter think it's just a cute little monster that's easy for beginners...
I dunno. XD Anyway, yeah it's a real bummer about the 3DS version not supporting online... :( If MH4 gets localized though, and I really hope it does, we might be able to hunt together then. I understand it has online capabilities.
Posted by Cerulesta 11 years ago Report
My vote would be for Abyssal Lagiacrus... I'd be all over a story like that. All versions of Lagiacrus are one of my favorite monsters, but that one in particular is basically the most badass thing ever. @@; I shat bricks when I first saw the picture, though I haven't gotten to fight it yet... I'd read pretty much any Monster Hunter story, though, so I'll be on the lookout for if you do write one!
And I will 100% be getting MH4 when (if?) it comes here, no questions about that. It'd be awesome to have somebody else to hunt with. <3
Posted by PocketHero 11 years ago Report
Yeah, I think I probably will go with Abyssal Lagiacrus... I've fought a good 25 of them, and he is indeed the most badass thing in the water, and one of the hardest fights. 0_0 Knowing me, half the story will probably be crazyass action before the vore part comes along. XD
Yeah, I'll absolutely buy MH4 if they get it to us. :3 Goa Magara looks so wicked...

Just awesome. I love the drawn out vivid imagery.
