Glad you appreciated it. I don't know what the deal is, my spelling/typoes have gone noticeably downhill the last few months. Spellcheck's catching a lot of it, but it's been a lot of using the wrong word in the wrong place as well. Weird.

Wow, I'm not sure what I expected for "something strange happens", given the setting, but this certainly was wilder than I expected. Lots of fun, and I like that you didn't just have them digest the extra people or otherwise feel required to return them to one copy each.

Great story! I have to say I was anticipating a rundown to the usual number of characters at the end and relishing the "Drawing of lots" Or something similar but it also made sense that no one wanted to be the sacrifice so to speak.
Just wondering if you'd be offended if I felt inclined in the future to bring them to another end after a few months and the arrangement of the copies living together not working out?
Especially with the Elle's that would get complicated really fast with three sharing one Clyde!
