The best mode of travel for a dwarf? By elf, of course!

And just like that, the place she once called home went by her in a blur of color and dirt.

She thought she heard a yell from behind them and the frantic steps of the mastersmith's son, but his short legs were no match for the gliding, effortless footfalls of the drow. It wasn't long before he gave up.

He would just have to understand---they all would---this life was her choice and not theirs. She just didn't want to be held back by a way of life she knew would never bring her happiness.

Her grasp around the elf tightened slightly at that thought.

Fakir didn't stop. He didn't quite know where they were heading either. Ahiru wasn't returning home, and he had no home to begin with. All he knew was that he needed to bring her safely away from that place.

The overprotective surge of drow blood finally quelled within him, and now, he could think, the brisk pace he took helping to clear his mind.

This is a bit from an RP that I'm doing with a friend. :) Ahiru is a dwarf in this AU and he's a drow (or half-drow, rather, and half wood-elf). It's a really fun AU fantasy RP and we're having a blast. Sometimes I get inspired to draw bits of RPs and stuff out. XD But I was really happy with how the sketch for this one turned out, so I colored it and even added a BG for a change. Speedy-elves for the win!

Enjoy~

Haha, yeah, I'm familiar with hobbits. I just thought it would be cute to give her hairy feet. (Dwarves certainly seem like they might have those, too.)

Thanks~ Glad you thought so.

I don't like hairy feet, but I like that you gave her hairy feet because she's a dwarf, y'know what I mean?
I love how cute you make girls look, good job!

Haha, yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I wouldn't like feet hairy IRL or anything, but I wanted to give her some identifying features that could be dwarfish.

Thanks a lot!

I think no matter what the skin color, elves are fun and also cute.

Cute little image, Chammy! I really need to get money towards a commission from you one day...

True, true. Drows traditionally have really dark skin and light hair, but since he's only half-drow in the RP as my friend is playing him, I figured his skin tone would be a little lighter.

Thanks a lot! :) And no worries~

This is absolutely stunning. The little story behind it, the overall color scheme. Fantastic!

Man, having an elf steed would certainly beat traffic in the morning commute. XD Lovely pic though! I love how you can tell it's a picture in motion, if that makes sense.

It certainly would. Hahaha.

Thank you so much! I know what you mean and I'm really glad the motion comes through. :)
