If the beginning of this story looks familiar, that's because it is. The start is almost word for word the same as a part of Story 148. But then it diverges.

You see, this is an alternate reality story. This isn't exactly the same Ayna that we know: This one is from Ayralef, not Felarya.

I'd been thinking for a while of writing a story set in Ayralef - the version of Felarya based on an alternate history (http://jakethecardsculptor.deviantart.com/gallery/43867546/Ayralef?offset=96). But for a long time I couldn't decide what character to use, or develop a proper idea for a story. Until I thought of Ayna. In "our" Felarya, she's already having to adjust to a different way of life on an unfamiliar land. So how about seeing what happened to her on Ayralef?

This story is intended as a sort of tentative introduction, for possible future development. You'll note that, for now, I haven't set it in any specific time period. Depending on what inspiration I have, I may, in future, tie it in with established historical events affecting that world.

Ayralef was created by, and belongs to, Jakethecardsculptor, as an adaptation of Karbo's world of Felarya. The "character" Markie was initially created by Zoekin / Whiskeyfox, then adapted by Jake.
