It's a little late, but I'm still feeling the Christmas spirit, and Goldeneye's still hungry. So have this one. Far away in the north pole, the three inhabitants of Research Station Thyma have taken in a very unusual new addition, a strange creature close to death. Michael wants to help it, for as they say, 'tis the season of goodwill. But as they say... no good deed goes unpunished.

This was a lot of fun, largely because of how Goldeneye's omnipotence and total lack of morality, along with his dangerously unstable nature, allow him to do the most ridiculous things purely because he - and I - find them entertaining. Hope you enjoy.

I'm once again left utterly fascinated and delighted by a predator who really takes his time with his prey. I don't normally enjoy predators on Goldeneye's powerlevel properly, despite all the other ways he is an ideal predator. In this particular story we get to see him in a weakened state, and then participating in seemingly benevolent antics, and it really, finally allowed me to relate to him. Thank you for sharing this exquisite story.

I know exactly what you mean. Goldeneye verges towards being boring - just another omnipotent predator with no morales. But I like to think his nature and the sheer enjoyment he takes from all the morbid gurgly things he does, and his unique nature and manner of predation, makes him more fun than just that. I'm glad he's finally found his way into your heart. Now, how about you find your way into his belly?

aaahhh! what a rollercoaster of emotions this was. Hints of pity towards someone like Goldeneye, hope he won't feel too offended by that, then the absolutely adorable moments of spreading christmas cheer, you almost had me worried that Goldeneye had a change of mind, if for just a brief moment, but as always, there is the wonderfully horrific climax at the end. Suppose he spread some more christmas cheer just for himself from the three.

Magnificent work and i'm left as eagerly to await for your next story as always.
Oh and of course, hope you had a lovely christmas ^^

It's fair to feel pity for him. He's not just someone who happens to have been born nigh-omnipotent. He earned every scrap of power, and before he could do that he had to build himself up from nothing at all. He has struggled, and he has suffered. But today it is all worth it. And when he's weak, it reminds you that he is still a freakish abomination against the natural order, and it is not easy being him.

I'm glad Goldie managed to take you in as well with his deception. But he's not changing. Believe me, nothing on earth will change his heart from his predatory ways. No-one is safe, not gods or mortals or planets or other shards. Goldeneye is born of the desire to experience, possess, and devour the whole universe, one slow taunting slurping swallow at a time. These three were his first Christmas present to himself, but I suspect they might not be the last. Plenty of cheer to go around inside him, after all.

Thank you kindly. Hope you had a good christmas too.

What I truly love in these is the dragged out misery of the prey, as they realise their place.

Awesome

It's my pleasure to provide. I love the emotional interplay of noms, the relationship it establishes between predator and prey, and the feelings it generates. The psychological struggle is just as vital as the physical one.

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone here had a better one than little old Michael did...

Also, I would very much like to see a drawing done of Santa Goldeneye...

I would as well, actually. i think he'd look good in red. Perhaps it's something to consider. It's so delightfully stupid and hilarious. Just what he'd do.

Hey, Michael spent his Christmas somewhere warm and cosy, close to his friends and surrounded by the person he'd spent the best night of his life with, making them very very happy as well and providing an excellent Christmas dinner. That's a pretty good Christmas in my book.

Thank you though. I had a good one. So did Goldie, actually...

However valid all of those points are, I just have this weird feeling that Michael might disagree with you there.

You know, if he had the opportunity to.

True. But if this has shown us anything, it's that just because Michael disagrees with something does very little to stop it from happening. His opinion is somewhat voided by his new role as a feeble little bulge in Goldie's immortal belly.

Just when I thought I was beginning to actually somewhat like him. Well, so much for that.

Heh heh heh. Guilty as charged. Goldeneye is capable of bringing great joy and great misery, and the thing is, to him the two things are no different. There are worlds and people where he's actually nice most of the time, but it's not for kindness or love. He's incapable of feeling those. Goldeneye just likes mortal minds, and he likes stimulating them. Terror or joy, love or despair. All are delicious. And none will escape being his, one way or another.

Unrelated, who do you cite as writing influences, and what do you consider your genre to be (vore horror or something?)

TheGuyWhoKnows

Not necessarily unrelated. Thanks for an interesting question.

I'm not entirely sure who's defined my writing style as it is today. I can definitely see some parallels to Terry Pratchett, who is my all-time idol, and I think I try to use a little of the playfulness of Eoin Colfer as well; he was a big influence when I was growing up. The slightly ambiguous not quite science-fiction, not-quite-fantasy nature which much of the Voidverse runs on is definitely inspired by my favourite fictional universe ever, that of Warhammer 40,000. The Void stole a fair bit from the Warp, I'm pretty sure of that. Otherwise... hmm. I can't really cite any moments I thought "I want to write like that." It's been fun to see how this lovely community has helped me develop, though. :3

And I'd probably call it... semi-erotic psychological horror, maybe. With elements of thriller, maybe, considering all the stuff which happens beforehand. There's definitely a lot of focus on emotions and trauma, as well as the actual slurps and gurgles.

Regardless of what it is, I do hope you enjoy it. Thank ya.
