Jessi continues with her life, unlike a certain unfortunate mouse.
Chapter Two of an ongoing story. You should probably read Chapter One first if you haven't already done so.

As horrible as it is a part of me takes a great deal of delight in ending the existence of someone who actually had potential.. someone who would have made something of themselves and maybe even made the world a better place. It's all the more delicious that that potential is being crushed as steadily as their body.. they COULD have been something, WOULD have been something.. but instead they ended up as food.

Yeah, there's something immensely satisfying about taking prey that were on the cusp of achieving something. Destroying not just the person but also everything they could otherwise have gone on to do with their life adds a little extra to the sadistic thrill. That's one of the reasons I set this in a university.

I would love to see sensitivity training. Even more so if it is a predator giving the lecture. Hilarious, and kind of sad.

It isn't shown first hand but it gets mentioned a bit in the next chapter. And yes it is definitely led by a predator if only because putting a prey species in charge of a room full of annoyed preds, who have already shown tendencies to harass those they think of as food, would likely not end well.

Wow, they actually talked it out like real people instead of some sort of unnecessary television drama! I love it, and I'm glad they made up-as much as one can after that sort of thing. Even Jessi worrying that Aura had met a larger predator, worrying about the person that was trying to eat her in the last 24 hours, I like this setting a lot. Though I wonder if Jessi's prolific tail grabbing won't get her in trouble one day.
And "I can promise it won't end the same way" has delightful undertones.

Yeah I was really pleased with that line although which way Aura actually meant it remains to be seen. And yes, Jessi does like pulling tails. Fortunately for her, she seems to have a good idea of which one she can safely tug. Glad you are enjoying it so far.

Man I wish I had a friend where we could casually say:
“Man, remember that time you almost killed me cause you were in the heat of the moment? Good times! Yeah sorry about that, but I mean…To be fair…It was pretty funny.”
Need me a friend like that.

Heh, yeah, I can definitely see the appeal.

I like how honest Jessi and Aura's friendship is. It's fun how Jessi teased her prey's friend
