When you're at the mercy of other people all day, sometimes it's nice to have someone else to put at your mercy. It helps if that special someone is tiny, durable, and likes it.

I've always liked your fairies. They can be pred or prey, or both at the same time, the size of the others involved is irrelevant, and they pretty much never mean any real harm.

I really enjoy using the fairies. They're custom made to suit my tastes, but heavily inspired (if not outright cribbed from) Gimlet's fairy in this story and a few others: https://aryion.com/g4/view/224798

Yeah, that fairy was cool. The one from "Just Deserts" not so much, but Gimlet does have a lot of really good stories where things stay pretty harmless.
