Leilah evidently hadn't heard of the dangers of chests, so opened this one happily. This mimic eagerly accepted the free meal, so I don't think Leilah is going anywhere soon, she's already stopped moving.

This was a request that  DrakentheBlack was nice enough to make for me, it looks awesome! I've given him permission to use Leilah in other things if he wants, so keep an eye on him. :)

It's either death by chomp or Karate kick to the face

I've gotten pretty good at dealing with them, and I've not opened a chest since I heard they existed- in any game- without hitting it first. Even on subsequent runs of Dark souls 3 I have to check every single one even if I know it's safe, just in case.

Imagine if they randomised which chests were mimics? Awesome but horrifying.

There's actually a way of telling the difference between a mimic and a real chest just by the way the chain rests. The real chest's chain curls back, while the Mimic's chain snakes forward, as if the chest was pushed back into its resting position.

I was aware there was something about the chain, but I can never remember what it is, so it turns into a game of 'might as well smack this one as well' very quickly.

Same here! My friend warned me about in the first one and I formed the habit too. And don't even joke about that! I'd rather fight an army of Havels

I wouldn't go that far, I can comfortably fight mimics at least, but Havel still bludgeons me at least once per run with that freaking dragon tooth. An army of him would be horrifying.

Ah Mimics one of my all time favorite dungeon monsters. Always a great method for dispatching tasty adventurers ;)
