if the effects only last a day, does that mean what's left goes through a rather sudden expansion, even if it's still in Rocket's GI tract?

I'm thinking of doing a pic where he eats someone and then the shrink way malfunctions. Failing that, a day is enough for a mouse-sized someone to make it all the way through.
