Natiq is easily twice as heavy as Salome and can take bigger meals. He once ate two dolphins her size in one meal and another only twelve hours later. But his lover's smaller stomach has some advantages. Salome has a chambered stomach and the forestomach is really quite good about holding on to large indigestibles, which she can easily heave back up.
Natiq on the other hand...bigger stomach, roomier plumbing. But not roomy enough to comfortably pass some of the things he eats. You'd think he'd just take off things like swim fins but they don't have hands and sometimes have to eat fast, swim away and deal with the consequences later. 83

This is a curious one. I like how they are compared. Does her forestomach completely grind down her prey too or is she just lucky it tears off unnecessary items?

I'm finding conflicting reports on whether there is gravel in the forestomach, but unambiguous reports of them being able to easily cough things back up from there. (You've probably seen the salmon video). Naturally a dolphin able to swallow and digest a whole human or fellow dolphin is unrealistic so I visualize a huge long stomach with, in her case, several compartments. Much of the digestion takes place in her forestomach and it usually strips off and holds onto indigestibles, unlike poor Natiq's as seen above. 83

So her forestomach grunds everything down and then her chemical stomach only needs to make things liquid enough for her guts to work.
But I actually do not know the salmon video. Would be interested in it though. This "what does which stomach do how" kills me every time I write about whales.

Aww they did not even explain how their stomachs work.
But the slow motion regurgitation and gulps were nice. Thanks for the link.

And the fact they were swallowing fish the size of a man's leg. 83

Oh yes. There used to be a video about baited reef sharks. Those sharks were about half the size of those dolphins, maybe less and still they devoured twenty pound of fish in around 3 seconds. And it stayed in too. I based so much of my writing on that. But it got taken down over copyright stuff.
