So, I got my clay... A day late that is, after finding that the courier just chucked it into the storm drain by my front porch instead of my mailbox. Didn't make the clay easy to work with, sitting overnight in cold water.

Anyway, I made a small figure of Wehe, 'cause I said I would. Not my best work, but it's been at least 10 years since I've made ANYTHING in clay-let alone a figurine. This clay kinda sucks for smoothing over, too. It tends to tear, rather than spread. I probably should have bought some higher quality material, huh?

Hope you like her anyway, regardless of my poor skills in photography and assorted likes. I'll be doing more figures when I have time, and after I buy some toothpicks.

Looks great regardless of the poor circumstances you had to go through to get said clay.

Thank you! It could have been worse though, it could have happened to the REALLY expensive clay...

Yeah-Mail in my area sucks. About a quarter of the stuff I order never reaches my house...

Glad you like it though!

Holy crap! this is awesome! I don't think I've seen any clay art on this sight before now. Gotta say i'm a fan of it now.

Badfurson

Ah, someone's probably done so before me-I can't be that original. I'm really happy that you like it, though! If there's another of my characters you be interested in seeing next, that might influence which one I pick.

I'll have to browse around for other clay art here sometime. Sure I'll find something interesting.

Influence the next one? Oh boy. I feel a lot of responsibly placed on my shoulders... I'd have to go with The Red Queen herself. That's your avatar if I'm not mistaken.

Badfurson

That could proably be done-I still need toothpicks though, and some brighter red? Aye'dunno, think russet would work?

tgawsome

Posted by tgawsome 4 years ago Report

Dam it Jim! I'm a writer not an artist! Seriously I had to goggle what russet was and now I know.

So to answer your question I think that could work.

If it's any help, Hobby Base sells joints, seeing something like this articulated would be neat, you've done nice work.

Thanks, glad you like it. And, I keep those under consideration-might be neat to see what I can do with 'em. They look like the ones that come in our model kits, so it probably wouldn't be too unfamiliar.

I'd love to try myself on making it a digital 3D Model

It would probably be better (and easier) to go off one of the images instead; but if you feel the need to.
