This story is a bit darker than what I usually prefer to write; I don't like to have really sad, dark or depressing scenarios in my writing very often, which is why I always try to inject a little comedy here and there, but for this story I felt I had to go full serious mode, as it seemed appropriate. Personally, I don't think I'll be writing something of this level again anytime soon, but let me know what you think. I might even decide to do an alternate, lighter ending sometime if people want it.
I've always thought Okuu had a unique dichotomy. On one hand, you could just see her as an adorable little airhead that's too dumb to be much of a threat. Yet on the other, you have a terrifying being that's easily susceptible to her own power trips and has the potential to cause mass destruction. Not to mention, I always figured that if Utsuho won, it could've had some of the most catastrophic results for Gensokyo as compared to most of the other final bosses.
This is technically going against my original premise of Boss Rush, but I wanted to focus more on the consequences of the heroines' loss this time around. I imagine Okuu's isn't exactly dumb, but just very weak-minded, easily giving in to her impulses, which is what I wanted to capitalize on in this story. Perfect mentality for a pred, hmm? I also love the idea of a pred who just completely loses herself to her own gluttony, and yet again Utsuho fulfills that role perfectly, letting her impulses drive her down an endless spiral of hunger.
Unfortunately, this is probably going to be my last piece for a while. I've been thinking over and drafting ideas for some new scenarios, but I can't say for sure how long it'll be before I have another story done, not to mention I'm pretty drained from writing all these long stories. In the meantime I'll probably just color some more sketches whenever I feel like it.

Love seeing a story of my fav 2hu. Quite different from the usual ditz, but I really liked how much it played up her nuclear fueled strength. Nice to see her enjoy herself too!

Well, as last time, this was splendid! Utsuho pred is truly a rare treat, and you went above and beyond a simple "Boss Rush" for this one. It's dark, yes, but Utsuho is probably the darkest villain in Touhou to date, and the most volatile. Nuclear power is an absolutely terrifying force to reckon with, after all!
It was a joy seeing Utsuho gradually become deranged as the story goes on; from simply gloating of her victory, to killing her friend, to just plain snapping and going wild. The power theft ability she seems to have is put to good use, too! Maybe Yuyuko could stop her...Assuming Okuu doesn't get Kaguya or Mokou first!

Glad you enjoyed it. Utsuho pred is unfortunately rare here, so I just wanted to contribute. Power stealing/assimilation is a fun concept to play with, just because of how massively it can snowball. Utsuho could easily become an unstoppable force if she gets the right people early on...

I did like the story, and I can't wait for Byakuren's eventually. have to wait out the hiatus, but the promised color ins will be nice.
and I will say he does breath a new life to the stories, something similar and different to the old ones from years ago. hope he continues, they are quite good.

Damn, that's pretty dark, even for a Okuu pred story. Love the plot, nonetheless.
