Oh man, another great chapter!
For Gold, I think F and G are both great choices, and I'm curious what they do. We have some pretty strong monsters right now, but we were warned that more powerful adventurers will be coming into the dungeon, so protecting those monsters and giving them better attacks would be ideal.
For enhancements, I think giving at least two souls to the mind-eater is a good idea. Maybe 6 for 2 enhancements. Yeah... I think we should give 6 souls to the mind-eater, 2 to the mudster, 2 to the shadow beast, and the last 2 to the demon spawn.
For recruitment, A, titan and hydra for sure.
For story, I think C, send a monster to kidnap the princess would be interesting. Maybe not the smartest move, but it would be the most interesting. The shadow beast would probably be the best choice, I think, for this task.
Lastly, I think Cretia should tell the orb about the mysterious white eyed man. Couldn't hurt, and the orb might be able to tell us something.

Wow, those "strategists" were terrible.
What could have drawn the gods' attention? Well gee, I don't know, perhaps all the soul-eating going on in your lair? That tends to draw attention - especially when some of the victims were their clerics.
Recruit group A. The lair's already feeling kind of full, so having fewer, stronger minions feels more effective.
Help the princess by option B. Too many of the minions aren't trustworthy enough for option C and we can't just pick the one least likely to give in to hunger. A on the other hand could work, but would leave the lair undermanned.
Regarding the white-Haired Man: B. Asking the Master about him could give valuable information, but has a big risk of him un-reviving Cretia out of hand.

Well, in fairness...yeah they were bad.

That was a great chapter and not just because the adventures got so royally screwed. The gods butting their noses into Cretia's business was unexpected and a completely laughable notion. Little do they know that WE control Cretia and would never accept such a shitty proposal. Not when there's so many tasty girls just lining up to be eaten. :3
Gold: We loaded bois! C, G, and H. Totaling 660, leaving us 240 for the next chapter.
Souls: 2 for each of the common monsters we have left and 6 for the mind eater for a double upgrade. Cretia is a generous master.
Reputation: This is a HARD CHOICE! :O A has 2 rare monsters!! But look that option 2! 2 pixie's, 2 hero-lures AND a Baoconda! ... and a vampire I guess but whutevs there... Fuck man, I cant pass that up. Option 2. (All the options are soo f*cking good this time around.)
Story: Oh boy... these two are tough... but I'm going with C; Kidnapp the princess. And A, tell the orb about the "visitor". Maybe a bit of honesty will convince the orb to allow Cretia some more freedom... like say.. keeping a human princess around as a lover. :3

Haha, they really did just line up to be eaten this chapter huh? Well, they won't be so easy in future chapters!

Upgrade 1 trap room basic and buy defence item.
Souls 2 to each shadow, mudster & demon spawn. 2 soul to the mind eater and the remaining 4 to Cretia.
Recruitment option c fay sorceress sound like fun
Story action option c best low risk option also would be funny having a princess in a dragon dungeon castle.
Final remain quiet about white eyed for now too many unknowns best to keep options open.

GOLD GAINED:
Total Available Gold: 900
C. Place New Random Basic Trap in the Dungeon: 160 Gold (normally 200 Gold)
F. Buy Random Offensive Item for a Random Monster: 200 Gold.
H. Expand Dungeon by One Room: 300 gold.
160+200+300=660 spent, 240 leftover
SOULS CAPTURED: 12
-Mudster-2 souls. Good job, that was honestly funny.
-Demon Spawn-2 souls. You got a kill.
-Mind-Eater-6 souls. I'm proud of you!
-Cretia the Golden Dragon-2 kills, because boss.
REPUTATION GAINED: 50 Reputation Gained/Novice Adventurer x 12 Defeated = 6 00
A. Recruit : Titan(F), Hydra
Double rare? Hell yes.
STORY QUESTIONS
C. Send a Monster to Kidnap the Princess! One random monster will be absent from the dungeon for the next chapter. The monster sent out this way may not return. Kidnapping success may vary by the power of the creature sent.
We don't want to weaken the dungeon too much with 3 monsters sent, and the king might not believe Cretia's minion. A kidnapping will at least create a distraction, and then we can tell the king about the situation and reasoning after we've acquired the princess. Further negotiations to be determined.
A. Tell the orb about the Mysterious White-Eyed Man. Unknown Effect.
Could be a test, and MWEM has done nothing to create trust. "Hi, KYS." Isn't a trust builder, it's a reddit response.

Hahaha, I actually laughed at your Reddit line.

Nice chapter! I'm liking how this story is slowly developing, and that mind eater is an absolute beast! Nice to see that the rare creatures are significantly more powerful than the common ones. Looking forward to eventually getting a dungeon full of legendary/rare creatures. Quality over quantity!
Gold: A. & H.
Souls: 6 for the Mind Eater, 2 to the Mudster, Shadow Beast & Demon Spawn.
Reputation: A. Titan & Hydra. If they're even half as powerful as the mind eater they should really come in handy.
Story:
C. Kidnap the princess. (As already said by a few others no matter what happens this will at least be interesting, and I'd like to see the princess get bought in as a character for Cretia to interact with. It would be nice to be able to send the Shadow beast specifically, since almost any other creature is probably just going to eat her or get caught, but alas we must just hope a sensible minion is sent.)
A. Tell the orb about the figure. (Given the power the orb has over Cretia's current situation, building some trust is probably a good idea, and this is a good way to do it as well as get some more information.)

Thanks! And yes, rare monsters were always going to be power houses compared to common. We've yet to meet their adventurer equivalents though. I may have overtuned the mind eater, just a little for thematic purposes, but many rares have very good abilities.

oops, forgot to make this a bit more read-able.
Gold: Are we capable of doing multiple things? If so, could we, say, buy 2 of each equipment? 2 offensive and 2 defensive? We'd have 100 left over, unless it gets more expensive every time like the game.
Souls: We have exactly enough to upgrade everyone. So...Let's do that. 2 to the monsters for a total of 8, and 4 for Cretia.
Reputation: We seem to have at least 3 rooms with only one monster, meaning we should have about 6 spaces for new ones before we're full. As such, I say quantity is a pretty good option. Option D will give us 6. That's my vote.
Story: Princess? Kidnap. The irony is fun, but I like the idea of having a pet, should it work. I'd rather it not be random, on the monster we send, 'cause I think I'd choose the Lamia if I could. She seems very subservient, and she's intelligent, plus her charm would make getting the princess to follow a lot easier, since the lamia could charm her, and stay hidden after instructing the princess to get out of the city by any means possible.
Hooded Man? Don't tell. I feel like that'd be a bad idea. We don't trust the bubble, but we don't trust the hood, either. I'd say keep it to ourselves for now.
Posted by Arthotus 5 years ago Report
Yes, you can choose the same option for gold multiple times, but multiple instances go into different'votes'. It's not three votes for expanding the dungeon if you vote to expand the dungeon*3. And no things don't get more expensive.
Posted by nyanyan 5 years ago Report
I see, that's nice. At least we won't be needing thousands of gold for a basic trap anytime soon. xD

Great new chapter!
Gold: Buy random defensive item x2, expand dungeon by one room.
Enhancement: If we can't enhance the new hires, then only enhance Cretia. All the male and animalistic monsters can just be fodder to weaken the adventurers for the lady preds.
Recruit: A. Lets get a lady Titan and a hydra. Bonus request for the hydra to have multi headed human form like Cretia.
Story: Kidnap the princess. Lets corrupt a seemingly happy nice princess. Maybe we can turn her into a dragon child without erasing her mind somehow. Either way it'll be nice to have someone to talk to, and her reactions to the combats will be fun.
Remain silent about the mysterious visitor. Why show our cards now?

Great read!
First time voting so here goes
Gold:
F*2, G*2, Save 100
Harsher challenges means heavier preparation is required, and while traps are helpful, the work's going to come from the "grunts" so it's best we make sure they're prepared.
Souls:
Mudster - 2 Souls, he earned it with his comedic chops.
Demon Spawn - 2 Souls, he put in work, he gets the reward.
Shadow Beast - 2 Souls, it comes down to preparation.
Mind Eater - 6 Souls, he's a power-house and his powers help us build up fodder, capitalizing early is advantageous
Recruit:
A - Many heads make for light work. Again, early preparation as well since Rares will undoubtedly scale better as we continue.
Story - The Princess:
C - Ironically this seems like it will be the best for everyone involved.
Story - The Stranger:
B - Neither side has earned much in the way of confidence, best we keep our affairs to ourselves for now.
Looking forward to more :D

Incredible new chapter, watching the new and improved monsters hold their own against the adventurers was incredible. Also loving how you’re writing the post-combat scenes. Great way to balance everything.
For money, my votes are for H, G, and F, in that order if it matters. I think it’s definitely time for the dungeon to expand a bit, and I think giving things to monsters we have is better than getting new monsters we don’t need.
On a related note, my vote is to give two souls each to the Munster, Shadow Beast, and Demon Spawn, and to give two enchantments to the Mind Eater with the remaining 6 Souls. Monsters dominated in this chapter, and it’s only fair to give them their reward.
As for Rep, my vote goes to option A, as I’m generally in favor of fewer new monsters per chapter, and because a hydra sounds like a really cool addition to the existing group.
As for the story, I terribly wish we could choose a creature to send to kidnap the princess, as I think the Demon Spawn is a natural fit for infiltration given its ability to pose as a child, but even so I’m still voting for option C because, even if it could fail, it’s by far the most fun option, as having a princess along in future chapters sounds like an incredibly fun dynamic for pre and post combat phases. The fact that adventurers would surely try to rescue her would, fo course, make this even better.
For the divine intervention, Cretia isn’t yet powerful enough to try anything so bold as a jailbreak, so far now she should play along with option A, and tell the orb about her visitor. As someone else already said, the small amount of goodwill gained from honesty might be enough to make him overlook our newest human addition to the castle.

Thank you! I decided to make this vote random because there was already enough options to choose from without splitting the vote more. Plus it made each option more even, to me, if the monster sent was random.

Save the money, enchance all the monsters we can, option A for the new monsters, kidnap the pricess or inform her father, and tell the globe what she saw.

Let's go with A - spend a little money and upgrade a trap, and let's see what happens!
6 souls to the mind eater, because I'm proud of my boy - and let's say...two to shadow beast, two to Demon spawn, and the remainder to Cretia.
Recruit A absolutely -- that double rare is ????????
Option C - Kidnap! You teased me with this option, and now I need to know what happens!
And finally, B. Let's stay silent for now...what's the worst that could happen?

Spend gold: 1 extra room - 300 gold
2 random def items - 400 gold
1 random off item - 200 gold
Spend souls: 2 for all monsters - 8 souls(just to see level 1 enchantments)
4 for Cretia
Recruitment: (A) 2 rares oh boy.
Story: (B) the two powers weaken each other when at war.
(A) you work for the orb and shows you wont be tempted by outside forces.

H, Expand Dungeon by 1 room. 3 times, if able. Labyrinth is good.
Enhance the Shadow Beast, Demon Spawn, and Mind-Eater by one level each. That ought to take all the souls, iirc.
I say we recruit A, the Titan and the Hydra. We don't have enough heavy hitters.
I say we choose C, send a monster to kidnap the princess. Let's send the Shadow Beast, after it evolves into whatever it will become. Either that or option A, assassination.
I don't know whether we ought to tell the orb or not. I say we keep it to ourselves for the moment. After all, knowledge is power.

Wow, this chapter was a good one! I especially liked the lamia's scene, that was great.
1) A. Upgrade Random Basic Trap, and H. Expand Dungeon by One Room
2) Enchance the Mind Eater with 2 souls, the Shadow Beast with 2 souls, and the Demon spawn with 2 souls. Save 6 Souls for next time.
3) C. Recruit: Fey Sorceress, Petal-man, Mummy, & Petal-man
4) C. Send a monster to kidnap the princess
5) B. Remain silent about the Mysterious White-Eyed Man

H for gold, more rooms means we can have another trap or monster in there, it'll take longer for adventurers to get to Cretia and thus they'll be worn down more. Plus it saves a lot of gold for next time.
Souls, 8 for Cretia. Returning to her former glory. Two each for any of the common monsters. Giving the mind eater more power is a very troubling thing to do when she's not at full strength, I highly doubt she'd want it any stronger than necessary.
A. Both are strong seeming creatures, and we only have so many rooms. Better to go with quality over quantity because we'll run out of room fast otherwise. Plus, multi headed vore and size difference are just straight up fun. Good thing we built this place big.
C. For story progress seems the most interesting, shes not an adventurer so we don't need to eat her this way we can have some more character interaction, possibly even pleasantries and the like.
Honestly there are problems with it being random, but that's fine, the mud guys can probably stealth pretty well. Lay down when someone is coming and you can't tell its not real mud.
Shadow Beast did pretty well on its last run, if I could chose I'd give them to souls and send it out again.
The lizard... It'd probably mess up. Its too dumb and far to big.
Lamia is a good choice, probably can move pretty quick entrance who she needs to and get the princess back safely.
And if we pick the mind eater he might eat her mind or he might come back with her safe and sound with a percussion of every other lady he met on his way there and back following right behind him.
Finally I'm not sure about the last one, while Cretia knows well enough that the orb is up to something and it probably isn't good. The only option they offered was a giant middle finger that only got bigger with every word word said.
Still in the end no point in telling the orb, maybe if we play hard ball enough with the fate of the world possibly in the balance maybe we can get a better offer.
