The StuCo's auditor starts having a bit of a weight issue of her own, Kaguya tests out her expanding limits, and Hayasaka nearly pisses herself in fear.
Hey there, everyone. Sorry for being a lazy piece of shit. I'm gonna be brutally honest here: this chapter took over a month because Terraria has consumed my life. I wrote practically the entire thing in two and a half days, separated by long swaths of nothing. Nevertheless, here it is, and I think it turned out rather well despite the writing block and scuffed schedule.
Once again, this chapter didn't really go how I originally planned, but this time in a more positive way. I realized that my rewritten part 5 was actually going be like 30 pages if I left it as is, so I cut it in half. Fortunately, there was a natural cliffhanger buried in there perhaps better than what I originally planned.
I'm not gonna pretend I have the planning ability to give an ETA for the next part at this point, so it'll come when it comes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If it's any consolation, I feel much, much more prepared to continue than I did at any point in the preceding month.

I mean, I THOUGHT seven before this happened, so who knows. The other half of this should be able to carry a chapter alone, I'm slightly worried that my outline for the previous six is on the short end, and I'm slightly worried that my outline for the previous seven is on the long end, so we'll see how that all averages out when I get to it.
There will also be two direct sequels of much shorter lengths. They're about ideas that I thought were pretty good, but were either too short to eat up a whole chapter or would kill the pacing. Not guaranteeing I'll work on them immediately after the series ends either, may move on to something else.

You've clearly put a great amount of thought and time into this and it shows. I've not seen or read the source material but your series makes me inclined to.
As much as I'm glued to this and wondering if any romance will occur amidst the amoral gluttony... what other anime or manga would You recommend?

Ehhhh not too sure about that. If you mean it in the sense that I'm extremely familiar with the source material though then yes, it's one of my all-time favorite manga and one of the few I've reread more than once. Easy recommend, it's the pinnacle of the romcom genre in the current media. Pretty high up as a pure comedy and pure romance as well.
My go-to series to recommend are always Ping Pong The Animation and 91 Days. If you're not turned off to the medium, my favorite standalone narrative and production experience period is the Umineko no Naku Koro Ni visual novel.

Very nice indeed. I suspect it won't be all that long before she starts forgetting about little things like people having been her closest friends for years, in favor of adding more meals to her insatiable gut.

What really ended up splitting this part was related to that. A driving force behind its pacing has been an attempt to have Kaguya hit a new corruption milestone every chapter

Wait, shouldn't she worry that there aren't bones anymore, how will she have a collection of skulls if they aren't there anymore?
Find some other kind of trophies?
Also, Hayasaka, she's gone off the deep end long ago, once she found out she liked eating people and was a sadist, it all ended, that and other fetishes like having no trouble with some bit of BDSM and...well, she will gladly poop in front of you or future prey.
And i bet she still hasn't fully shown all that she wants to do to prey, though when it comes to scat, i guess eating someone the future prey loves and releasing them in front is the best she can do unless she goes full coprophagia on them.

Next chapter is gonna have a few more experimental shenanigans, but most of the rest of the plot will build towards a narrative climax at the culture festival matching the manga.
I do have interest in a few more dark ideas like that though, so I'm considering using them in spinoffs or future series, perhaps ones with less of a long gradient in the pred's behavior shift

Ahh, the more dark stuff will come in spin-offs, gotcha, as for the culture festival, can't wait for that to appear.
Also, already find some of the stuff here dark, i mean, Hayasaka talks about the lines of skulls in a room that are numbered and treated worse and worse, at least the first few were cleaned but Kaguya stopped caring.
Not that it matters since she doesn't get bones anymore apparently, so there goes that collection, i guess she needs another kind of trophy, she belched some glasses, so i guess now it's...belched clothes and items she tells Hayasaka to arrange so that she can look at them or show them to future prey?

I wrote about 4 pages of chapter 6 earlier today, so barring some kind of extreme scheduling mishap, there shouldn't be another 5-6 week drought between parts.
