Some families are very close even if they disagree as to occupations. Bart knew she’d be pissed and was willing to soak up her anger to get back on her good side.
Bart has ladyfriends he bones just for fun, one night stand sort of things, but he also has a couple he sees regularly. She's one of them and they have a good relationship.
