I don't think so.
It's not even a good joke, just insulting. It devalues the experiences and hardships I and people who've had it worse made and endured. I am more than an insult you can throw at people. Especially because it's not a choice.
I don't even care when you make jokes like that in private, but when you put them on display their gonna get called out.
I am not sure if this makes it any better or not, but it definitely wasn't a situation of Eka harassing an autistic person. It was someone using the term flippantly to describe themselves and excuse their breaking of the rules.
The context of the original quote was someone spamming the ETA discord because global/custom emotes were temporarily disabled in the text channels. They were asked to stop and then they said "sorry I can't help it i'm autistic so i can't stop until i can use custom emotes" to which eka replied with the above quote
But I would like that my disability was not used as a random insult exchangeable with "crybaby". Really gives off a wrong idea of what people like me (and you, apparently) experience and are like.
Isn't the context that Eka looks stupid for saying this? It's completely non-sequitir here, just like in the original quote. I was kinda off put by this at first but knowing where its from makes it better imo.
I find this amusing to me and the general triggered few being upset make this more amusing as I have Aspergers. yet, this serves on point I approve of this
But what is the joke?
You can't call people triggered when you haven't yet explained how this is more than just saying "haha calling someone autistic is funny", which hasn't been the case for a few years now. Don't pretend like people not finding a lame joke to be funny as them being "triggered" by it.
Humor is on the eye of the beholder, you are get or don't. The same if you find a joke offensive or don't. the moment you get bent out of shape and try to throw a label because you are "triggered"/ "this joke is offensive and i am offended" then honestly be offended. I really don't care honestly. if people want to get a laugh then let them
You're throwing the word triggered around because, like everyone else who's used the word incorrectly for the past few years, want to feel like there is irrationality in what the opposition is saying. You can't sit here and say the comedic value of calling another person autistic as a non sequitur joke is subjective just to get out of the question. Don't buddy up in the comments about people being mad just to discredit what's being said. I didn't get into this conversation because I'm mad about the image, I originally was just going to say "yikes" and call it a day because I had no context to this. I got into this because people like you who act like any concern about a joke is an anger attack. Now that I know what the context is though, I have a different question. How does autism being the joke enhance it enough for you to feel pride over perceiving others to be angered by it? What is so funny bruh?
Wrong causality. It is an ableist joke and that's why I find it offensive.
And why didn't you do as you tell me now and just shrugged it off and moved on in the first place? Could it be that you hold yourself to different standards than the people you disagree with?
All these people whining about a joke... I have ADHD, and dark humor like this is right up my alley. Im sorry that you cant understand that a joke is a joke, we dont care if youre offended by it, because its a joke. If you dont like a joke, simply shut tf up and move on/ignore it. Grow up, people
All these people whining about an opinion... I have Aspergers and opinion pluralism is right up my alley. I'm sorry that you can't understand that an opinion is an opinion, we don't care if you're offended by it, because it's an opinion. If you don't like an opinion, simply shut tf up and move on/ignore it. Grow up, people.
So why can you tell me to ignore an opinion if i dont like it, but continue to use half the stuff i said in a different way? I was stating MY opinion, you clearly dont like it, so why are you not taking your own advice?
I was quoting you even.
If you lived by what you told me to act like you wouldn't have bothered to tell me in the first place. Practice what you preach.
I never said anything about ignoring an opinion, THAT was you. You werent joking, clearly, so i fail to see what youre trying to say. Take my advice and dont respond, youll just make yourself look even dumber.
You really don't see that I was applying your own standards to you to show the hypocrisy in them, do you? It's a rethorical device.
Take your own advice and don't respond, you'll just make yourself look even dumber.
The context was explained in an earlier post by Omae. Probably best to stop fighting people over this pointlessly, it was an incident in a discord long ago so people thought it was funny, screenshotted it, it became 'meme-e'.
Look, it’s the internet. You don’t like it? Don’t go on it. If it makes you that angry then avoid it but at the end of the day people aren’t gonna say anything different because they don’t have to worry much about how others react due to the whole anonymous nature of things.
Look at all the people new to the internet in this comment section.
Also autistic. Can actually appreciate a bad quote intentionally spelled incorrectly.

I totally agree agree, but I'm also curious what the original context was. I doubt Evergreen was genuinely meaning to be ableist.

The context definitely makes it better, just was odd for someone with no reference seeing it with no context.

You getting called out right now for being butthurt. I'm an autistic appreciator of this work and I'm tired of pretending otherwise!
