Half a year has passed at the Magic Institute of Ahzek since last weeks stories, some things have changed, and others, remain the same.

writing the tags for this made me realise what a mistake writing anthologies was, feel free to hit me with anything I missed or miss-tagged.

Mutations, Byte #1, Hammerspace:
There are a large variety of races in The World Within, and, completely flying in the face of genetic reality, most are capable of interbreeding with minimal genetic defects, even more shocking, when these defects do occur, they are more often than not, benign if not beneficial.
The cause behind this anomaly of biology is more than likely a mixture of the highly magical nature of The World Within and the fact that most races are derived from humanity in some way.
One example of a beneficial mutation is the relatively widespread phenomenon of ‘Hammerspace’, despite what the name implies, the ‘Hammerspace’ mutation comes in a variety of forms and one entity possessing multiple or all forms is exceedingly rare, in general, most beings that experience some form of ‘Hammerspace’ mutation will specifically experience it in the areas of the body connected to one orifice, such as ‘Hammerspace stomachs’ or ‘Hammerspace wombs’.
The result of the ‘Hammerspace’ mutation is a space, far larger in the interior than the visible exterior, allowing creatures to ‘Embrace’ far more matter than should otherwise be possible.
Interestingly, certain races are more inclined towards certain mutations than others, for example, Plant people, such as the mushroom like ‘Myconids’ have developed their stomachs in a way that fully digests and absorbs matter within that particular organ, leaving the rest of the digestive tract redundant, it is theorised that this is the reason why certain mutations, chiefly ‘Hammerspace intestines’ and ‘Turnback intestines’ (a similar, but less extreme relative to Hammerspace mutations) are more common in their species.
