Eyy, glad to hear, and I try ;n;
And it's been a while, just looked at your gallery and damn! You've improved so much, last time I was active around here I recall you were barely trying out non-pixel art. Your latest stuff kinda rocks ngl!

And I don't mean that negatively, I loved your pixel animations, but I just mean while you weren't too comfortable drawing back then, I can tell you've become much more confident since then! Love to see it!

Thanks! Yeah, I reaaally didn't have any talent to start with, so first drawings were really not great, to put it lightly. That said I've been studying and practicing lots and I'm glad it's starting to pay off.

I've always had the feeling people would of preferred me to have stuck with the pixel art, but I know learning to draw is going to make me a better artist. There's a lot of fundamentals you can sorta get by without learning in pixel art. Ah well, not like I can't hop back to it every now and then!

Learning more conventional drawing techniques will make pixel art even easier if anything. Getting you hand used to the motions of quickly translating an image in your head to paper is a universal boost in all spheres of art. Be it for storyboarding/sketching ideas quickly or just having more options in workflow, it's good for you. 3D artists benefit greatly from having some fundamentals in academic drawing, as such it is often taught in 3D animation schools from the very start.

And fair wording mistake, but I don't think you meant "talent" at the beginning there, because just from your pixel animations you certainly had it. Pretty sure you meant "experience" there. Talent is simply an affinity in learning. Or an ability to learn and improve at all. It's also synonymous with "gifted". "Very talented" people learn and reach skill levels faster than others with similar effort just due to their brain affinity with a given thing. They will plateau like everybody else and need to work hard to achieve new heights, but that plateau might simply be higher than average. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
