Crude, cruel, unstable. Some of these words can describe NCP.

As one of the earliest Gems to Emerge from Homeworld, NCP is not just a Beta Gem, but called White Peridot, the 'purest of all Peridots.' This puts her on the same level as the greats like White Sapphire and White Spinel, but like the former Gem, NCP has grown to despite the title. That's why she prefers the alias 'NCP,' short for No Common Peridot. Not only does it state her great skills as a warrior, but it refers to the uncommon makeup of NCP's gem without aligning herself with... her.

But how did NCP acquire such skills? As a Peridot, isn't her purpose to be an inventor, a creator of weapons? Or to maintain Homeworld's machines, their factories, their Kindergartens? Well, the answer is quite simple: as a Beta Gem, early Peridots not only built weapons, but tested them too. Mostly on themselves, since Gems were a rare commodity back-then and organics served as poor target practice. They kept... dying when you shot them! How unreliable! So early Peridots were granted abilities seen nowadays only in Quartz Gems, such as super speed and strength.

This made NCP strong compared to all other Peridots, but raw muscle isn't enough to win fights. No, NCP learned how to fight from White Spinel after the latter acquired control over White Diamond's colonies. To better serve WS and maintain her assigned colony, NCP trained long-and-hard until she was the equal of her fellow White Gems, and far superior to other Betas. Even when Alpha Gems were rolled out and their Quartzes outmuscled her, NCP continued to hone her skills. Eventually, NCP was better known as a commander and fighter than a weapon's maker. NCP still knows her way around a workshop, and can repair most machines faster than you can blink, but her passion with fighting and leading Gems into battle than anything else.

This made NCP a war hero during the Crystal Gem Rebellion, where she was tasked with combatting Rose Quartz's commanders and top fighters on the regular. She won the Battle of Sector 6D-9L and Shattered dozens of Crystal Gems. She clashed with the the Terrifying Renegade Pearl and even fought Rose Quartz a handful of times. NCP earned great acclaim like the Perfect Quartz, Jasper, if not more so. NCP was also responsible for running info suppression, whether it was keeping Homeworld Gems ignorant of the Crystal Gem's philosophy or keeping word of rebellion a secret from other colonies.

Alas, all that fame didn't save NCP in the end. After the death of Pink Diamond and the subsequent retreat, NCP's starship was blasted by a wave of sound. What a great, terrible, and cruel sound it was! It struck one's gem like a tuning fork and sank the foul waves down, down, down to one's very core, twisting you up inside! The Diamond's Corruption Wave sent reverberations across Earth, and even if NCP and her crew weren't hit directly, the wave still damaged their gems. Tinged by corruption, NCP was broken on the inside and her damaged starship flew across the cosmos, never to return to Homeworld.

Even in her semi-corrupted state, NCP knew that Homeworld, the Diamonds, and even White Spinel wouldn't accept her as she was. She was labeled as MIA, never to be seen again...

... at least, until Era 3 arrived. In the 6000 year interim between Eras 2 and 3, NCP founded the Gem Armed Coalition (GAC for short). A mercenary group compiled of renegade Gems, whether they were Off-Colors or semi-corrupted like her, the GAC is a safe haven for Gems forsaken by Homeworld. It gives them an outlet for their rage, frustration, and unused skills. For a high enough price, the GAC will fight any war, assassinate any political rivals, scorch any planet. And with her corruption making NCP more brash, more volatile, more bloodthirsty, this No Common Peridot is happy to lead this band of cutthroats. Whether that means protecting the Earth... or waging war on the newly-founded Gem Republic...

After waffling back-and-forth on the matter for the better part of a year, I decided to add references of the other characters in the Steven Universe AU, "Out of this Universe." Its always feels weird, honestly, reposting someone else's content, even with their permission. I certainly don't want to upstage  z3d by stealing views, comments, and such. Buuuuuuuuut consolidating all the AU's content is also important, so after reconfirmed z3d's stance on reposting his content, I cracked like an egg.
