I don't think I went into as much detail about how she works this time, but her function in the story is the same as in the Maluek and Hialfi stories. The Maker needs his samples and she goes and gets them from willing volunteers. 83
Not everyone she'd gotten samples from is a subject of the Maker. Uragh isn't but clearly he still respects the Maker, but she's gotten one from a gold dragon and that's definitely not a subject of the mage.
Metallic dragons are good, usually, but very proud. Most aren't into randomly boinking people, at least once they get past the teenage years.
The rubber critters are very rare in-setting, which is why the Maker asked Blossom to stay. He had her turn a human into a balloonie and keeps him in his lab, so there's no real pressure to find more. Hes seen the whole transformation process and has Blossom around if he wants to study her a bit more.
That's right, although I thought she had 'digested' him rather than transforming. (Faulty memory)
...tho the D&D manual write-up did specify that the ability to transform was limited to the original. I'm guessing that was to prevent a runaway zombie apocalypse type scenario.
They aren't that dangerous, as they are vulnerable to fire. If they converted a whole village or started to spread too much there would be a backlash. Plus, they are territorial and the ones that eat people usually just absorb them to keep from creating competitors. The only reason we have three four in the two stories is the first one made a balloonie gul on a whim and Shural the balloonie gul wanted some lovers. Blossom got away from that situation after she was transformed and Shural and Shalira went back into hiding. This is a very rare creature and likely to stay that way. Plus, the new ones created are not controlled in any way except bullying by their makers and if they tried to convert anyone very powerful it would probably end badly.

Anything with Blossom in it is a treat! (yeah, I'm biased)

If it's the Maker, you'd think they would be "voluntold"... You just don't disobey the Maker, at least those in their right mind.

Ah, but aren't metallic dragons rather sociable and friendly (-ish) towards the smaller folk?
Has the Maker ever tracked down any other critters unfortunate (or not?) to have encountered the same type of being Blossom did, ending up like her?
