When you're marked, it's easy to forget the simple pleasures of life. Usually, a hungry predator hunting you down is not the kind of thing that would help with that. Usually.
So, this was written months ago. It follows directly on the heels of the previous chapter. I'd hoped to upload them quickly so you could follow along easily, but it didn't work out that way. You might need to reread the last one (link below) to remember what's going on and who's who, but hopefully that isn't too big a bother.
I really liked the little trip down memory lane in this one. That dynamic between Jack and Fiona is just so interesting and enjoyable to me, it really fuels the series from the writing perspective. And having new faces to contrast that relationship against always highlights new angles. Speaking of relationship, what was with that moment Fiona had, huh? Honestly, if we'd planned this out well enough in advance we probably would have made this some kind of "special chapter" considering its number. But we have a story we want to tell, and I don't feel like screwing it around for jokes at this point. We'll fit the jokes in where they actually fit.
Anyway, how you guys enjoy this one, thank for sticking around and waiting for it, hopefully the next one is ready sooner.

It's inevitably going to be very awkward when Sarabeth has to explain that she didn't negotiate with her parents. In the meantime, Fiona can introduce Jack to more of her hunting habits and cause awkward situations in a different way.

Ah, delightful! A nice turnabout, with Fi's jump scare, and the general playfulness was great. The "taste test" mystery continues, of course, but one day we'll know what it is..
I'm also starting to quite enjoy Chelsie as a character. Which is odd, because most of what she is right now is "unreadable but firm in her beliefs." I legitimately don't know what intentions, if any at all, she has towards Jack and I like it that way. At least for now.

Interesting chapter, though it did have a few stuff to discuss, this chapter really does reinforce Jack and Fiona's relationship, plus have an outsiders perspective of them giving of how it looks and their reactions of such relationships.
Still, I sense a hidden story point in this chapter.
