With two new additions to her household, Clawdette finds herself in a bit of a fix when she suddenly loses her job. But all the new time off she has on her hands makes for a good opportunity to do a bit of bonding with her newest daughter.

My forty first Miss Smalls story.

Patti is a little unusual but I have no trouble understanding her philosophy.

As for the whole situation regarding Clawdette's work, that kind of horseshit happens all the time in the real world too and it is monumentally frustrating since the system is so biased in favor of bosses and not workers. So ostensibly existing worker protections rarely end up actually protecting anyone. Bloody awful it is. And knowing what you've said about how you draw from real life experiences for these stories, you have my sympathies as well.

Not always, mind you. But this time I did. That was exactly how I lost my job earlier this year. Well... Maybe not EXACTLY... This was more of a simplified version of how things actually went down.

must say, it's really interesting how Clawdette has been able to grow over the course of the series. A classic case of the Fool's journey in order for her to finally achieve real happiness. Sense the start, it was made clear that Clawdette had been living a rather empty existence. Being that she started with a girlfriend she lost from her mother's meddling, to marrying a husband she had a loveless relationship with. Losing said husband in a dubious manner, (side note, was his death changed at some point? Because that had two different outcomes). To than eating her own son. Not only because he was dating their naturally prey, but also from prioritizing her pride in not letting her son's girlfriend out.

At that point she hit her lowest point for several chapters until she met Cindy at the supermarket. It would actually be there where Clawdette began her new journey to rediscover who she really was and what she really wanted to be. If anything, it's been pretty obvious that the reason Clawdette had been as awful of a person as she had been before that was because of her mother Bernadette. With Bernadette's influence Clawdette had been living her life in the polarity of the reverse Empress. Bernadette never allowed Clawdette to just live the way she wanted to. From not only discouraging Clawdette's sexuality, her choice of wanting Prey animals for friends. To even eating any of Clawdette's prey friends in order to set an example or make a point. Bernadette even went as far as to making Clawdette eat a close friend of hers during a stream to keep up the status quo. Regardless of how it would hurt Clawdette in the long run, which still hasn't healed by the time of Clawdette's Rabies chapters.

Sense meeting Cindy, Clawdette has been able to finally come into her own as a person. Even going as far as to becoming a beacon for others to come to in times of great need. As she is now being joked about taking in strays.

What's important is that Clawdette's destiny has changed, from the reverse Empress to now the Hermit. Clawdette needed to come to realize how toxic her mother's teachings were so that she could finally shine her light down a new path for not only herself but for the new family she's worked really hard to build up.

If she were a Stand user, I'd give her "I'm a Bitch" by Meredith Brooks. That song is actually a pretty good reflection on the kind of character Clawdette is. She isn't perfect, but she is trying.

Thank you for the analogy. It was actually quite interesting to read someone else's perspective on the series.

As for her husband's death... You say I gave two different outcomes? Oh dear... Could you maybe point to where those two different outcomes were mentioned so I can check? I'm afraid I've been writing this series for so long I can't remember where every little thing I wrote is located. So at the moment I'm not sure if I goofed up on mistake or if it only looks that way because there are details you the reader are not aware of yet. I'd have to look at what I wrote to figure out which of the two it is.

I believe you originally wrote it that Bernadette ate Clawdette's husband due to his gambling habits. Then in a later chapter he had died in a car crash from Clawdette's recounting of events at a dinner party she invited her mother to.

Oh okay... No I didn't make a mistake. Both of those answers are equal parts correct while still being purposefully misleading.

Sorry. I actually forgot that I had already dropped BOTH of those. But I guess that means it's about time for me to finally show what actually happened. I had originally written the story in question as bonus content for a published Miss Smalls omnibus collection, but I have no idea if that will ever get published now. This series may be beyond Amazon publishing guidelines at that point. But I don't want to withhold the story from everyone because of that so I'll post it some time here in the near future.

What's a Omnibus? I don't think I've ever heard of that.

Omnibus /ˈämnəˌbəs/ noun, a volume containing several novels or other items previously published separately.

It would have been a published book containing all of the stories here on my account as well as some bonus content. I had planned to do one for each season of the series but at this point I don't think I'll be able to. Amazon is a little picky about what kind of content they will let you publish if you aren't George R.R. Martin or Stephen King. I've already had one of the books I published on there get banned.

Oh, Ok.

How would Clawdette react to seeing the Mother Goose hydra from Magic the gathering.

For Clawdette it would likely be nightmare fuel. For me the author, a dream come true. Clawdette's issue with geese is one of those things I actually didn't base on myself. I actually used to keep geese. I love them. Best guard dogs I ever owned.
