Let’s Make A Deal
The duke was not pleased. His men had proven entirely incapable of protecting his property, and his only hope was the fact that a monster hunter had shown up on his doorstep precisely when he needed someone to intervene. The problem with that, however, is that the prospective hire wasn’t as invested in the situation as he would like her to be, but he should’ve expected such a thing. After all, she was a dragon, and that kind of help commanded a high price.
