Some NPC prey, especially rich ones, can save you from a pred if they overhear you screaming. Aside from that, there's no real benefit.
As for your last question, not everyone knows everyone. There's nothing you can do about that.

I'm just exasperated that you have a problem that I really don't think should be a problem in the first place, and which has so many obvious solutions, and you chose a solution which removes agency from the player and which I personally find disgusting.

I like the pacing, as do many other players. Those who don't can easily customize it to their liking at the start of the game.

The pacing of digestion is, quite honestly, completely fucked.
The default setting is tedious, to an absurd extent. Once your limbs are digested you should bleed out and die within MINUTES. Yet with the game's default settings, in most preds, it takes DAYS. It's just the same few text lines repeated tens of times.
The player starving to death in the time that it takes them to get digested shouldn't have been a possibility that needed to be dealt with in the first place, either logically or in terms of gameplay!
And when the digestion time is realistic, passing out from tiredness seems to be a way bigger problem than hunger.

It's to make sure that the player doesn't starve to death before being digested. Lots of people complained about that, which is why that feature was implemented.

Hi, can you write if there are plans for the mechanics of feeding predators with food or victims with whom the player has a good relationship? There by increasing the weight and curves, without having to feed yourself to them.
