Update: Everything is on hold for now. Though you'd probably guessed that by now.
Former lurker/observer who's finally absorbed enough intel-I mean artistic experience to start work on Phase 2: Developing Artistic Skills.
Current Project: Day 3 of Initial Training
Challenges on Hold:
1. Draw a complete picture (Start to finish, in color) in 1 hour or less.
2. Draw a picture without tracing a reference first
3. Draw a picture using only shapes and the eraser tool (no ink, pen, brush, pencil allowed)
4. Draw a picture that works with only color and lines (no shading)
5. Draw a picture that works with only lines (no color or shading)
6. Draw a picture that works with lines and shading (no color)
7. Paint a picture instead of drawing it
So, I just posted the final (for now) version of my Day 3 Training pic. And the overall results are...mixed. I got the eyes figured out (all one of them), but the hands turned out awful (especially one of them, guess which one). And the head wasn't quite right. And the bulge could have been better. And the background could have been less...simplistic somehow.
Overall, I think I still need more practice before I apply for a gallery. So, looks like it's on to Day 4.
And for day 4, I've got the following training content in mind:
1. Shiny surfaces
2. Better, simpler, and less noodley hands
3. Better (not 0, 45, or 90 degree) angle shot
4. At least slightly more detailed background
5. Better bulges (bigger, shapelier, possibly with...
