You don't understand what I just said, do you? I guess I'll spell it out for you:
I'm just giving you a taste of your own medicine. Now you know exactly how I felt in our previous conversation on the Tumblr submission. Annoyed. Frustrated. Like I was doing all the work in a clearly one-sided conversation. Like everything was going in one ear and out the other.
So how does it feel? Do you like being treated like that? It sounds like you don't.
Well I don't either. So unless you want to apologize for insulting my family (No, my father did not drunkenly beat my mother; I have a good, healthy family dynamic), insulting me (No, I don't have deep-rooted psychological problems that lead me to this flavor of fetish; I just like it because it's exciting), refusing to back up your claims after I laid a blueprint for exactly how to do so, misrepresenting what I said (saying that because I like torturing fantasy aspects of my personality that I intend to commit suicide), outright lying about what I said (I did tell you, in list format, what I wanted you to prove, but you said I never told you despite putting your "proof" in a response prior to stating this lie), telling me I'm going to Hell (a place I don't believe in), patronizing me (telling me to go get help), and overall not understanding the basics of civil discourse, then I'm only going to reply to you with the word "no" because that's all the attention you deserve.
You broke the rules of civil discourse when you directly insulted me instead of providing the evidence I showed you how to get. You don't deserve civil discourse until you fix what you broke and restart it yourself.
In case you were wondering, this is the post that broke everything: "You know what? Forget it. You want to be a hypocritical self-hating douche, fine. I'll let you wallow in your sorrow creating your desperate cries for help and I won't respond anymore." You can go back and see what it was in response to if you'd like, but I don't think that was a justified response for what I posted just prior to your post.
If you apologize for all of the above, every single one to prove that you read what I just wrote, then I will apologize for any grievances you have against me and we can stop antagonizing each other. If not, expect to receive no more meaningful a reply than "no." Hell, I might even try discussing the topic that started this again if you really want to and promise to keep your mind open to persuasion. I have nothing to hide, and I am willing to change my mind if provided with enough evidence as well.
So how about it? You've got a choice here. Apologize for everything I just listed, one sentence per item (I will do the same for you if you wish), continue receiving "no" as a response for everything you say, or leave me alone. It's all in your hands.

I asked you to apologize for every item in that paragraph. I know I'm going to sound difficult here, but you've kind of put me in a position where I have to make sure you're not going to burn me again, and that you're sincere in your apology. If you take the time to apologize for every single thing in that list, I will know you sincerely want to continue the discussion.
Here is the list again, for convenience's sake:

Overall not understanding the basics of civil discourse: No apology necessary for this. That was just me being an asshole. But you really do need to work on talking with people with civility.
As I said, I know I'm coming off as difficult in asking you to apologize for everything listed here, but I need to know you're willing to commit and won't go back to doing what you did to break this conversation in the first place.
And again, if you want me to apologize for anything, I'll be happy to do so after you've done this.

I still don't understand what you wanted me to prove. I'm sorry for saying you want to commit suicide or want to commit murder. I'm sorry if you took it as lying, but I was just confused about what you wanted me to prove. That was uncalled for, but Kitty is one of my favorite characters, and doesn't deserve this, like a lot of other girls you draw. I shouldn't have told you to get help when I'm pretty much in the same boat (for an unrelated reason).

You didn't do these in an itemized list, but I try not to be unreasonable if I can help it.
Here is what I was looking for:
You need to prove to me that people are inherently good. This involves first finding evidence against my biological argument that people have both cooperative (good) and competitive (evil) impulses, and next proving that people start with only cooperative impulses.
You need to prove that evil fantasies somehow hurt people. To do this, you will need to find legitimate research that supports your claim, and a lot of it. Here is a good place to start: http://scholar.google.com
If you want me to just take your word for anything you say, you will need to prove that you have a background I can trust. That you are some sort of expert. This means having a master's or higher in psychology or working for an organization that would qualify your opinion to be any better than mine.
But here's the thing that I think set you off last time: If you find far more research that opposes your views, you should be open to the possibility that you might be wrong. I am open to the same possibility, which is why I am giving you so many tools to fight my views with. I am relatively confident that I'm right, but if you can prove me wrong, I'll admit it when sufficient evidence is presented.
I also suggest looking up how to tell if a site is legitimate or if there is a bias in the research. Biased research is everywhere, and it doesn't count for doodly squat.
I don't expect you to come up with this research immediately. I have gotten my knowledge through years of casual study, and even if I looked through the research really hard, it would still probably take me days to come up with sufficient evidence to prove anything to myself one way or another. And that's proving something to -myself-. Feel free to take a few days to present your case. I can wait, and no one "wins" an argument just because someone is taking a while to post a response, so you don't have to worry about that either.
Does all that sound reasonable? If any part of it doesn't, tell me what it is and explain why, and maybe we can negotiate.

Well, just think about it. What is evil most associated with? Pain. It works the other way around. No one is born evil, they are made evil due to outside events, such as their parents or other people or events, usually at a young age. I don't need to prove that humans are inherently good. Did you want to murder people as a baby? No? You barely had a comprehensive mind to form opinions until you found outside forces that shaped who you are? Well, that proves it. Also, I tried showing you a link that would prove it, but it doesn't help that the author of the books founded a money-grubbing organization that demands money for giving people this much-needed knowledge. I personally feel like the knowledge should be shared freely.

I read your link (something you didn't do for me, which is one reason I got testy with you), and it's as simple as "I don't buy it."
You must not have children or work with children, though. Kids are both inherently evil AND inherently good. They can be very sweet and loving, but the minute they realize that there are other thinking beings in the world other than themselves, they start to lie. Kids also bully each other with no outside prompting. Sometimes it's because their parents beat them, but sometimes they do it just because it gives them an adrenaline rush. Competition and domination do that, so some people get hooked on it.
All of this evidence is scientifically proven fact. The conclusion I draw, that people have both inherent goodness and evil in them, is my own opinion based on this evidence.

And in regards to the topic of an artists work, you don't question their art, character design/personality, plotline, story, reasoning or try to force them to change their ways. It's just bad manners.

You're right: You don't insult people just because you disagree with them, and you shouldn't diagnose them with mental disorders for something they get their kicks off of unless you're a real expert in the field and evidence points strongly toward such a phenomenon.

I understand that Humbug gave quite the reply to your post, but in all honesty... It's her work, she drew it, she likes it. And in the end it is non-cannon and non-reality.
I understand what your feeling, it sucks ass to see a character you really like on the ass end of a bad situation with no hope, but thats how it is. I too was a bit dissapointed with the lack of her out of belly, but at the end of the day it just aint worth complaining about.
PS. Maybe if you're really nice or commision humbug, he'll draw katswell as the pred ;3

You pretty much hit on the whole core of what started the argument here, though: I like doing bad things to good characters, and Garth doesn't like that. He's had similar issues with other artists as well because he thinks that there is something wrong with doing what I and others do, and he likes to voice his opinion about it.
Oh, and sorry, but I don't do copyrighted characters in commissions. Don't want to attach money to my drawings of them and get on shakier legal grounds than I already am.

To me the psychology is a lot like things such as... uuum.... death battle or something.
Your gonna see characters you like die or loose a battle, and that sucks, but that's just the way it is. And it also adds to the fun... the strangely obtained sickly viewed fun XDD
