Hiram knew better than make the gold dragon mumble around his meal. He stood and watched for a few minutes as bit by bit, one side and then then other, the Gold ratcheted its jaws just a little further over the struggling Red. With its forelimbs pinned to its sides by the by the larger dragon's gullet and unable to even sting it with fire – Golds are as immune to that as Reds – it was only a matter of time before what had been two dragons became one. Struggle though it would, the Red was slowly being swallowed alive, pulled in by the Gold's powerful jaws and equally mighty throat muscles.
Once or twice a particularly violent bit of squirming pulled some wet, red scales back into view, but soon enough they were overtaken and swallowed once more. This could take a while.
Hiram resolved to come back in the morning, when the long swallowing process was finally finished but digestion had barely begun. It wasn't the first evil dragon the Gold had caught near the village, after all, and he knew he'd have weeks if not months to shoot the breeze with his friend before the Gold was finally slender again and ready to fly on his way.

where is this dragon when I'm playing skyrim?

Off somewhere digesting a meal. Takes a while to process an entire dragon. 83

lmao, and WHO is going to whine about a GOLD gulping down the neighborhood flesh eating, town destroying red/evil dragon? hehehehehe
If not for the books say D&D dragons are like 90% efficient digestion/eating machines I'd call foul all over these same size pieces. But with that POWERFUL a digestive process... ahahaha, just tickles my sadism side something fierce, hehehehehe <333
And, smart human, hehehe

In the stories the Gold is always described as more serpentine than the other dragons, and snakes are good at same size vore, assuming the prey is the right shape. Unfortunately the 3.5 edition Gold art has them pretty much Western in appearance, albeit with weird and hard to draw fin-wings. One of these times I will draw the Gold as a 1st edition, more Eastern-looking drake.

They got rid of the Eastern dragon appearance? *sighs, shaking head* What is it about WotC and needing to turning everything they touch into... *edits out string of rambling curse words*
And yes, snake like would be able to eat... well its way to the top of the food chain, assuming prey are the correct shape (sorry red dragons). But that digestive process dragons have... *whistles appreciatively*

http://www.draconika.com/types/images/gold-dragon.jpg This is what they looked like in 3.5. Not only are the wings annoying to draw, but so are all the head tendrils. That's why the Gold's chin tendrils got bitten off a while back. 83

And here we thought dragons couldn't get any LESS obeying the laws of physics, aerodynamics, chemistry *face palms, shaking head* And gods, is that thing fugly >_>
Strongly agree on the biting off of the chin tendrils strategy <_<
