So I really like XCOM, and I was pretty hyped for XCOM2 until I found out that it's like, a retcon of Enemy Unknown where nothing you do matters. Woo!

So that made me annoyed a bit.

And then they brought out the Vipers. I was no longer annoyed.

So the game's got snake ladies with huge prehensile tongues and thick, crushing coils. They don't ACTUALLY eat anyone in the game (as far as we know) but it ain't a stretch!

So of course I made one, and of course she eats folks, and of course there's gonna be more of this. This isn't the first pic of her, nor will it be the last one!

Needs a name though. What do you name alien snake ladies, anyway?

Art by my buddy Starquill, who you can find on FA!

I got a name you might like. Sounds kinda snakey, but still sensual. Seravin. Seh-rah-fin. I dunno, but I've got this thing for snakes having a "sss" sound in their name at some point. Also, I'd love to see more.

Is it bad that the first thought I had was 'WAIT, HE DIDN'T GET FIRST COMMENT THIS TIME'

Very nice, the creators had to know what was going to happen when they added these lovelies. Still I think you did an awesome job with her I just love her expression. ^^

Vipers? Never heard of them. Probably due to never been an XCOM fan.

Name? Ptar 'Komtaree. Because Sangheili-style names are interesting.

Tabris

Posted by Tabris 9 years ago Report

Hrm, not sure it suits her! Sangheili names only really suit THEM, if that makes any sense?

vegeta002

I know what you mean. Though it probably fits about as well as human names fit cat demons or vegetable names fit monkey warriors.

I actually got that name by putting 'Tabris' into an online name generator, meaning it's technically your name.

Well, XCOM2 is a natural progression for me as I absolutely hate myself and play on Ironman Impossible. And so far I have never actually won yet. Thus this would just be natural progression for me.

P.S: Lasers are woefully inadequate when fighting Sectopods...

P.P.S: I will start my first campaign on Ironman Impossible, and see how far (more likely short) I manage to take it with no prior knowledge.

Ironman Impossible + Long War.

All my yes. In fact that is what Ive been trying to the last year. Managed to eliminate Exalt somehow... Still getting my ass handed to me by the aliens.

Yay, more Viper art!
I'm surprised there wasn't more art made as soon as the trailer with it was released. Cause she's lookin' sweeeeet! Hopefully the game will be alright, and then as time goes by there will be a more steady flow of Viper pictures coming around.

(But deep inside, i just wish for them to give the Viper an attack that enables it to eat it's opponents ingame ;3 )

Very interesting, from multiple angles of thought.

RPish thoughts: Vlad could have a field day with this sort of creature. Weirdly awesome creatures are his favorites to study. Even if he's not actively or roll-reversely preying on them, he could certainly enjoy playing the roll of prey and collecting a few cells from their innards on the way out. ;)
Depending on their intelligence and mindsets, he may even try to recruit a few for his own crew. Or try setting up a "will let you eat me for research purposes, in exchange for some live cell cultures" agreement with as many of them as possible to get a proper genetic library built.
And if those angles don't work, there's always the more direct "prey on them" and slightly less direct "trick them into eating him and assimilate them from within" tactics.

Non-RPish thoughts: Holy crap, that's an awesome design! Not just a lovely snake girl, but a cobra, at that. I must admit an affinity for cobra-style designs.

Name stuff: I'm a combination of Muskogee and Cherokee descent, and have a dictionary from each, which I use when I want to name exotic characters or for magic spells. Additionally, there are some good sites that tell name meanings and permutations of names, from a wide variety of sources and languages. If you've got the money to spend on a few foreign language dictionaries, or the time to search name meaning sites, you can find some awesome names, and perhaps help preserve a bit of culture in the process. :)
A few suggestions: Cetto, Cekto (Muskogee terms). Inada, Inadv, Inadu (Cherokee terms).
