> Go see Gina

You ask Nerron what he has in mind. "Heh, well..." He gives you a bit of a smirk. "I've heard harpies can be quite a lot of fun. Never really had a chance to spend time with one before. So the question is... What do you have in mind?"

You think for a moment. You tell him that you might could have some fun in a bit, but since you're here in the Market District, you do want to check on a couple things first. "Well, alright then. I got time. I'll follow you for a bit." He nods and the three of you make your way to the market proper.

Once there, you quickly spot Gina's potion stand. Nearby, you see the magic shop. The red lamia is nowhere to be seen, but you do notice that the drunk Flame Elf who had groped Edris seems to be tending the shop. Ignoring that for the moment, you head over to Gina. "Hello there, how may I-" The human girl looks at you for a moment with a weird look. "Wait a moment, aren't you..? You look like Miss Floria..?" You remember that Gina has yet to actually see you since your transformation. You quickly nod, explaining that you are indeed Floria. "What? But, you were a human? Oh, did you drink a weird potion?"

You shake your head, deciding to explain how Bluebell transformed you. Considering what you know about her, you decide to actually give her the full story. She stares at you with interest. "Harpies can do that..? They can transform people?" She asks. You tell her that the feral used some sort of magic, though you're not sure what it is. You doubt it's a skill limited to harpies though. "Really? That's amazing! I'm not very good at magic, but I wonder if I could find someone..." She seems to be a bit excited about all this before snapping back. "U-um... I mean... That's such a strange thing that happened to you! Um... D-did you want to buy some potions..?"

You laugh a little. Seems she's trying to hide her interest. You explain to her that you already know about her little secret. "Wh-what?" She stutters in surprise. "But... but how? Wait! Was it Garrett? Oh, I told him not to tell anyone... If my father finds out, he'll be so upset..." She seems to not be aware that her father already knows. You decide for now to just tell her that her secret is safe with you. "Thank you, but... yes. I know about that sort of um... about that stuff." You tell her that you were actually wanting to learn more about it. Her eyes light up a little. "Really? You do? Well um... then..." She thinks for a moment. "Um... but I can't really just leave the stand here..." You tell her there isn't really a rush for it or anything. "O-oh, yes. Sorry. I just got a little excited there. I don't meet a lot of people who are interested in this sort of thing." She blushes a bit, smiling. "Well, I close the stand up in the evening. And my stand is closed for the next two days. I guess if you find me anytime then, I should be free." You nod to her.

You decide to ask her about the lamia who worked in the magic shop. "Hm? A lamia?" You nod, giving as best a description as you can. "Oh, Miss Araida?" You shrug. You never really got her name. "She quit several days ago. The um.. the owner of that shop, Mr Ken, is really well known for harrassing his female workers..." You nod, admitting that you've met him, explaining how he tried to grope Edris. "You... you should avoid him." She looks away for a moment, with a worried expression on her face. You question why. "I don't really know. He just... he gives me a bad feeling. I mean, I've met plenty of perverts, but I get a different feeling from him..." She quickly looks back at you. "Ah, I'm not saying to avoid buying from him though. His goods are um... good. Just be careful." You nod, thanking her for the warning.

"Well um... would you like some potions? I'll give you a good price!" You look down at her potions. You recognize many of them as general health, energy, and willpower potions. You spot some focus potions as well, which could be useful. However, there's many that you don't really know what they do at all. You ask her about them. "Well, these are just the ones I have displayed. I have plenty more back here. If you're looking for any sort of potion, I probably have it, just ask!" She thinks for a moment. "Oh, I actually... I have potions which can transform your body. They're only temporary though. I think the changes last for about a day. Nobody really buys them, so they aren't too expensive. You do have to be careful though. They're very strong, so if you abuse them, you'll get potion poisoning really quick."

You remember that you have the unknown poison in your bag. You pull it out and ask Gina if she can identify it. "Oh, um... Probably?" She doesn't sound confident, but you let her look at it anyway. "Oh, this is a poison. Um... I think it's just an energy poison. You probably shouldn't drink it. It would make you super exhausted." She hands it back to you. You thank her for identifying it for you. "Of course, no problem." You ask if there's anyone who could identify some enchanted items for you. "Oh, that would be..." She looks over at the magic shop. "Mr Ken is probably the best person for that..." She still seems pretty wary of him.

"Floria." Elykae speaks to you for a moment. "I can tell that you have... plans for after this. I'm not sure if I want to be involved this time. If it is fine with you, I'd like to go see if I can find Tassri." You ask if she would want to learn unbirth from Gina. "I... I don't think that's needed. It seems to be an action purely meant for pleasure. It would give you no tactical advantage whatsoever."

-----

Okay, shopping is gonna be a bit different now. You guys basically just come up with whatever you think you would want, and I'll decide if the person actually has it or not. For the most part, I think they'll have it, so long as it's reasonable. (No invincibility potions! :U) Also, general rule is: The more complex or powerful it is, the more expensive.

How about a potion that prevents the stomach from digesting for a while?
Most likely to be used for interrogation, improvised imprisonment, or a kinky experience.

JiklokEmisaryOfSteel

Posted by JiklokEmisaryOfSteel 8 years ago Report

An acid resistance charm or potion should do wonders for this application.

YesImCanadian

Posted by YesImCanadian 8 years ago Report

In a world like this, depending of how strong of an enchantment it is, those would be invaluable and probably cost a fortune.

JiklokEmisaryOfSteel

Posted by JiklokEmisaryOfSteel 8 years ago Report

Or likewise common with how many cases of full body devouring there is. However we can only determine this by asking.

MontyMiyagi2513

I'd say go for the charm if you could choose from the two it'll last longer and a charm that will act similar to Elykae's mask

or to survive some angry person.

(Has memories of a mysterious cloaked man asking "what are ya buying" in a hearty tone. Shakes head out of it.)

Though I doubt Gina has such an object a species mixing potion unlocker is what I would hope for. General use potions... perhaps a sort of thing known as... espresso? Such an odd potion. More like a bitter beverage. However it has the power to grant undying awake power for a long time.

If lady Elykae wishes to wonder allow her to do so but let her know mylady has made no real plans after the market visit.

This "ken" man, I doubt he could overpower mylady along with the Drake boy in tow. Recommend we do not buy provisions from him but tools instead.

May steel line thy path

No invincibility potions? Well then we buy a potion of near invincibility! Also five potions of inedibility. (You can never now with Elykae's associates)

Ask if she has a potion that can transform someone into an elf, if yes we buy it and sneak it into Tassri's food. Because spider elf.

JiklokEmisaryOfSteel

Some believe driders are a form of evolved drow. Perhaps it would not work? Then again this only be a theory written up by old philosophers.

TotallyRandom

Well her 'human' half looks kinda like an elf, so this theory is possible.

JiklokEmisaryOfSteel

Posted by JiklokEmisaryOfSteel 8 years ago Report

She does have pointed ears and colorful eyes with a light skin and hair. Then again caves could explain the skin while white hair is rare but not race exclusive.

Rayen

:V...

I don't even know how this would turn out. Hm...

TotallyRandom

Posted by TotallyRandom 8 years ago Report

Judging how she hates elves, she would fight herself until the potion wears off, after that she would probably eat Floria for this prank.

Maybe something for a future What If?.

JiklokEmisaryOfSteel

She may get angry and leave yes. Perhaps stumble for her new leg arrangement. Then when in town she would notice how nobody is looking at her with fear or distaste.

No invincibility potions, but perhaps invisibility potions? Nothing is scarier than an enemy you cannot see, especially one who can see you from the skies! x3

The magic shop keeper... Perhaps we should take Elykae with us and investigate while we browse his wares. I'd say we ask Gina if she saw Araida actually leave. I sense something quite foul afoot! >_>

Lastly, as mentioned before, we may miss our chance tomorrow to go to the Empire as the Commander will show up after the ship leaves. As such, we may be able to visit Gina more often and learn some new tricks. :3

5 Focus Potions
1 Lamia Transformation potion (you never know, it might be just what we need.)
1 Antidote for random poison.

As for Elykae, tell her that, if she meets Tassri, let her know we found Nerron, and that now we have time to fool around with him, so she can come hang out with Floria and him if she wants. Just in case, let Elykae have one focus potion. If she is going to spend time alone with Tassri, she might need it.

Let's visit Mr Ken.

And, of course, arrange a time with Gina to have intimate UB sessions.

Digestion supression potion

Feathered serpent!

AnominableBreadman

Posted by AnominableBreadman 8 years ago Report

First of all, we should assure Elkyae that we just wanted to know if she was capable of any vorish tendencies, tell her that it is only because a majority of her team seems to be able to do so. Then send Elykae off to bring Tassri back to the room, have Elykae tell Tassri that the guard from before is waiting for them.

As for the Magic shop, we can just have Nerron talk to the guy about appraising the enchanted item in question, oh and if the magic shop has an occult or mind magic spellbook. Then we can just hand the money to Nerron and he can get said books for us, if the price is reasonable.

We also need to equip Floria's luck charm if she hasn't already

AnominableBreadman

Posted by AnominableBreadman 8 years ago Report

OOHH OOOH, see if we can get a human/elf transformation potion, we can give it to Tassri to see what she looks like with a human/elf rump :3

AnominableBreadman

Posted by AnominableBreadman 8 years ago Report

we can also argue that, this potion could make it so that Tassri can fit through doors more easily.

JiklokEmisaryOfSteel

Posted by JiklokEmisaryOfSteel 8 years ago Report

This may just convince her... beating the alternative of reducing her rump size altogether.

YesImCanadian

Posted by YesImCanadian 8 years ago Report

And this is why I love this game.

Things to buy:

1) Claw gauntlet or falchion (or other short sword).

2) All the tomes we don't have.

3) A focus glove for Tassri. This'll hopefully reduce the chances of the spells messing up.

4) Some for of relaxed gear for Elykae (we need to teach her to relax).

5) A better spear with some form of enchantment (If there is a better spear).

6) 2 more health and energy potions.

7) More rations (for Tassri)?

Things we can do:

1) Agree to meet up with Gina after our meeting with the commander.

2) Get our enchanted items identified and ask around for Araida.

3)Find Tassri.

4) Have fun with Nerron (make sure not to wear him out too much, he does need to do his night shift after all)

5) Find out more about Elykae.

Side note: Elykae is too serious." It would give you no tactical advantage whatsoever". We need to teach her how to relax.

paltiel

Posted by paltiel 8 years ago Report

General agreement, all around. ^-^

Are we only doing potions now? If so, then let's get:
- Focus potion
- Willpower potion
- Lesser invisibility potion
- Digestion resistance potion
- Gender bender potion (please see below ^w^ )
- Various race transformation potions: Elf, Lamia, and Human (For those folks missing Floria's big booty ^_~ )
- Poison antidote
- Potion cancellation potion (for stopping potions we want flushed from our body, for example: Race or gender change)
- Potion of near invincibility, 12 pack

If we're going to be in Erada for awhile, maybe pick up a gender transformation potion, too? If Floria's male, she won't have to worry about problems dealing with jerk Ken. Just don't drink it around him.

... or take the boring route and have Nerron handle all the interaction with Ken. (Tip o' the hat to AnominableBreadman)

Apart from potions, buy every single magic book we don't have as well as Birb talon blades.

And.... agreeing with everyone else who says let's search for Araida.

Lastly, a foursome with Gina, Floria, Nerron, and Tassri sounds fun.

Too bad this isn't the evil playthrough, or we could send Tassri after Ken. Heck, if the jerk disavows all knowledge of the Lamia, let's do exactly that! Thinking: What if Ken kidnapped Araida?

YesImCanadian

Posted by YesImCanadian 8 years ago Report

Agreed with the other purchases.

And as for what to do with Ken. Yes. Just, yes.

paltiel

Posted by paltiel 8 years ago Report

If Ken acts even slightly suspicious towards Nerron's query about the Lamia, let's consider sending Tassri to abscond away with him in the night.

Methinks she'd like that: capturing a hated Elf under the cloak of night and steam plumes.

Once we have him in our possession, have her suck his brain out with a straw... er, read his mind and/or make him divulge Araida's fate.

-IF- she's still alive, keep him alive so the Lamia can eat him. A fitting fate and all~ But, if she's dead or unrescuable then he's immediate Spider-chow.

Would be advantagous to have extra bulk on order to carry more equipment. Less chances of broken bones because they are less fragile. However the ability to fly could be argued as an equally useful talent. Still I support this ideal.

ShotgunJesus

Hey now, unbirth has tactical advantages. Roll speech at Elykae, dang it! Floria of all people should know what they are!

Okay, uh, shopping. Shopping... I'll keep off the 12 pack of nigh-invulnerability soda cans, or what have you.
-focus potions. We're semi-magic heavy and it's useful for Tassri's shenanigans.
-some means of warding off digestion/unbirth/general softening. I'd prefer it be in a more permanent means than a potion, such as an item or something, but a potion will do in a pinch.
-Some level of invisibility potion. The hamster talked about that, and generally in games like this, invisibility is very useful. Especially considering we can fly- it'd make for perfect scouting.
-Any sort of spell tome would be useful. If we want a little more spice in what we do, what with so many characters swinging around mind or occult, try to find something exotic like a raw magic tome.
-Any sort of skill training, especially for skills we're missing.
-My personal favorite and recommendation for this sort of setting and tabletoppish stuff in general? Grease. Learn to cast it, find scrolls of it, find flasks of oil, whatever. Grease is awesome. Enemies slip on it, they find it hard to pick up their weapons, we coat ourselves in it, it's harder to grab and eat us... and hell, it's probably lube or makes tits shiny or something too. Grease is all around awesome.

make date with Gina to learn about unbirth/etc, possibly this evening. Our place most likely since Dad does not approve of her being "corrupted", but her place has advantages.
Tell her we may have a large class...

Suggest that all three of us go find Tassri, but we need to check with the magic shop, and since the owner seems perverted, we want to go as a group. No serious evidence he is a real threat, but... anyway, ask him to identify some stuff, and maybe buy/sell some items. Shouldn't take too long.
Then off to search for Tassri. Since she was supposed to be just looking around, we do the tourist bit, pausing to ask if anybody has seen her. She should be fine ..

Remind Elykae that any knowledge can be useful. A spy mission into the human area would go much better if you could be changed to human, or could change the spies to human. Or if you find that perfect somebody, but he is of the wrong race... Knowing how to switch one of you would be really useful. Or...
Try to get a conversation going between Elykae & the lad. The military might be a subject they could enjoy. Mostly just trying to keep either from being bored. Tarrsi should also be a subject of interest. See if Nerron wants to learn about unbirth.

Couple of things I just thought of:

1) If we are going to drink a transformation potion, we should hold off till tomorrow after the meeting with the commander. It might give off the wrong idea if we go there as a different race than what we started as.

2) On the note of transformation potions, Gina mentioned that they can give us potion poisoning quite quickly. If we are going to use them, I'd say use 2 at the very most, then get a check up. You can never be too sure.

3) I like Gina's response when we said we want to learn from her. Of course you don't meet many people like Floria. She has tons of people telling her what to do.

silly elykae, of course it has no tactical use... in battle. but, if there's someone you want to say, take prison or whisk away somewhere to interrogate, and you want to muffle them or don't have the time or equipment to restrain or gag them it's very useful and convenient. in fact, as an agent she should be eager to learn such a useful skill, i'm surprised she hasn't done so already.

in fact we should tell elykae this. also, getting some seriously ominous feeling regarding miss araida, like she's been enslaved or worse. we should go visit her home, just in case, and if she's fine make her a job offer
