Hey man, good story. Should have a sequel perhaps. I hope Yarik is innocent of the rape, perhaps he's a rare non-asshole gnoll that actually doesn't do that kind of thing. Would be good for variety.

I also liked how you handled the Captain's personality.

Nice story. I liked how you hinted at the many creatures Hialfi had eaten over the years and how his very resilient patience ran out at the end.

Because the preponderance of large prey in the civilized areas he hangs out in are intelligent, Hialfi eats a lot of humanoids. Goblins, orcs, gnolls, other evil types, and also humans and other "good" races if they happen to not be so good. He doesn't want to do it, but he has to eat, but deer are scarce and he can't afford to buy food to the equivalent of 20 people on a mailman's salary.

That is all very logical. I just wanted to thank you for putting those voracious slice of life details in there instead of just going with "Oily lizard goes in fox cock goes out. lol" This way the reader gets a good idea of the struggle it can mean to be a huge usually hungry creature trying to get along with people. Also I really like the thought of what history predators have in terms of digested prey in order to reach their current size.
