Quozl the couatl was polite. He did try to get the gryphon to leave. But he's bound to guard that tower and if an intruder won't leave, well, it's not the first arrogant young gryphon to lie stretched out in a cool feathered serpent belly and it likely won't be the last.
It's probably just a coincidence that the ones that end up in a couatl's belly, or in a foxtaur's or brass dragon's or giant badger's, are the ones Goldfeather has the most trouble keeping in line.

Honestly coutals have such a great aesthetic, love feathered serpents a lot! Love them even more when they're nice and full~

I drew this at Denfur but I just couldn't get the wings to work and was too embarrassed to post a wingless couatl pic. Luckily I was able to fix the wings at MFF.

This always was one of my fave stories from you. Something about the exotic pred and prey makes a great deal of difference.

Ah, I remember that story. Nice having some visuals of that scene now, too.

You’d think Goldfeathers’ sons would start to catch a hint that all the sons that start to act rebellious keep ending up as feathery piles after being eaten by some creature.

It's hard to learn from a mistake if the first time you make it you end up as a bulge. Unless one of the hens warns the kid they just think they are going to earn dad's favor in the course of their adventure.
