Chapter 25 of my Xantos series and the third and final part of Xantos' backstory.
This time we see how deep Xantos' and Saria's relationship grew and how this affected her little sister, Ionait. Xantos is having a good time with his newfound human relationship, one that's surprisingly returned in equal fondness, despite they being of different species.
There are geographical details mentioned in the text, and if you wish to know more about them you can find a map I have made here:https://aryion.com/g4/view/813080

As always, I love to hear your comments and opinions so please tell me what you think : )

Saria was very unfortunate to have such a sister to screw up her life in such a way.
I haven't given much reason to emphasis that deep with Xantos yet, I plan to add a few more details to this topic but felt it wasn't room to add it into this chapter as it was getting long enough already. I will return to a more lighthearted chapter the next time when Elyon decides to reward Xantos for all the help he has given her so far.

That was a beautifully sad story! I am a fan of yandere, but they are only a benefit if they are the target of affection, otherwise, tragedy ensues.

Thanks, they can certainly be an interesting lot, but incredible destructive people if they comes without self insight and reflection.

A particularly scary thought is one detail of Ionait's curse that the victim would not be dead, just transformed. In some way it gives hope that Saria might be able to be brought back, but at the same time, it's horrible to think she's conscious and aware in the state Ionait permanently transformed her into. The agony of it is so bad I imagine the devil himself would show up at Ionait's castle and tell her, "I just wanted to say, I'm a really big fan of your work."

Damn, didn't expect this to hit me in the feels quite so much! Very great work with the backstory character building, and just how tragically things went.
I feel bad for pretty much everyone involved - even Ionait a bit. She was clearly deranged (in a decidedly yandere sort of way), and pretty much 100% responsible for the disaster, but her resulting anguish was still no less real for it.
Great stuff!

I felt the story needed some kind of emotional weight at some point, such hasn't exactly been one of my strongest sides during the series so far. My preference is usually on the more lighthearted side of things and more in line with how you write, so this was a major detour. Besides, it lent much to the story building itself, writing a tragic background for some of the most important characters. Ionait had it coming, but the more I write about her, the more she comes out as a tragic character, rather than an plain evil one.
