Yeah, it's kinda been niggling at me for years that there could be a better system. With the release of the next chapter of my comic it felt like a good time to try and formalise it :)

Depend on if it's Fatal, or Non-Fatal, or if Reformation is used. Likewise, does the Prey simply pass out before digestion, or does digestion start.

For instance, if it's non-fatal, with the prey only being in the stomach for a brief time before being brought back up via regurgitation, or passing on through, the prey might be very willing, unless they are a prisoner, which which case, they won't be willing.

If it's fatal, there will probably be a degree of reluctance. In my Delicate Diplomatic Matter, the Prey in question happens to by dying of cancer, and wants to go out on their own terms. In my Big Meal Day Meal, the two Prey happen to be doing a Heroic Sacrifice - their lives to help their friends and even family to escape from their Masters - They were going to die as a Meal, but thanks to some heavy-duty sleeping pills, they drug their Masters long enough to allow the rest of the humans to escape. Then there's Feral Human Herd Report, where the Prey in question has been exiled, with a Death Sentence upon their head - very unwilling to say the least. In the first two stories, the Prey either pass out, or are already dead before digestion starts, and it's kinda peaceful/painless. The last story has more of a painful digestion, due to the Predator receiving some injures during the confrontation.

Likewise, in cases involving Reformation, if the process is painless, getting eaten might be treated as an annoyance, or akin to going on a roller coaster ride, depending on any foreplay. Of course, if the process is painful, they will be reluctant at best, to very unwilling, and then there's the mental aspects.....

As said, it all depends on the situation.

I sometimes like to play voraphile prey. They're definitely unwilling, but they can't help but find being overpowered by a virile hungry predator who takes what they want to be an overpowering turn on.

I think this is a good tool to help explain willingness. Personally I prefer the prey to be 2.5 to 4.5, but it doesn't have to be.

Interesting and thought provoking scale! I think my preferences lie between 2 and 4. For me it is important that the action and threat has real weight, and that the pred is in the control of the situation. Under 2 easily makes me feel just bad for the prey, unless it is contrasted enough with more casual pred/context (to distract from the distress). Over 4 is also non-optimal as it easily makes the situation feel too light to make you feel that it is actually bad things happening to the prey. After all, for me at least the kink is in the use of the prey by pred for their own need, with no care of the prey.

I think I would be somewhere between 2 and 4 depending on the situation.

If I know it will hurt and I will die, I would offer some resistance.

But if I get confirmation that I will feel little or no pain or that I will be resurrected, I might be somewhat willing and more so if the pred is a woman who will allow me one last spicy moment before becoming a part of her beautiful figure, emphasis on “allow me”...unless we are in public, that's a big no, no!

I prefer 2.5 at lowest, and while 5 is nice, I think I enjoy 4.5 better.

I may as well say this now, though: I like the art and I like the predators' cruelty and callousness. But I'm less fond of the prey's self-deprecation and feelings of worthlessness, as well as the excruciating process of digestion being stretched out for as long as possible, as opposed to suffocating or succumbing faster.

I'm not criticizing you, to clarify; you have your preferences, I have mine, and others have theirs. I just feel the need to say that I find myself conflicted when viewing your art and seeing things I really enjoy with things I don't blended so seamlessly.
