Stranger still, the more powerful in magic they're made out to be, the more often they get easily bested by other magic users. Celestia, Luna, Discord, and now Twilight have all had that happen to them.

Purple acids. Rarity's clear affection. Twilight's chillness. Ponies aren't shrink...
Not that I support spike as a pred, but it definitely seems most likely since he's the only of the mane group who's in there, and also he probably got greedy. So I guess Spike ate them. Luna's belly would be darker and so would starlight's.
Why Logic though? If I had to make a blind preference, I'd want it to be Gilda.
