These two pictures were made with a more painterly method and the linework was added afterwards. I'd say it looks pretty nice, but you be the judge.

Wow <3 Really nice you posted it ! First work with Lusamine, one of my prefered pred !

linthia

Posted by linthia 7 years ago Report

And to continue : I love the new method ! Though, before reading the description, I thought you did first the lineart, then painting it, would be easier ?

Lampton

Posted by Lampton 7 years ago Report

Thanks! I found that painting without lineart feels very liberating, and adding lines afterwards is easier when the shapes are already established.

I so love your take on this wonderful lady. She is awesome predator <3

Great work! I like this new method. The tears in the shirt are a nice touch. I'll say, though: the anatomy of her fingers on her closed left hand seems to be a bit off. It's hard to say, but it might be because the fingers appear to be too equally extended. I think making the extension more gradual (pinky with the most flexion, index with the least) would help to fix it. Also consider giving the knuckles a little more depth, as the thumb appears to pop out more than them.

Lampton

Posted by Lampton 7 years ago Report

Looking at it now, the hand does look a little too rectangular. Both hands could do with some adjusting to be honest, but I'd rather not work on this picture anymore. I'll definitely keep it in mind for next time though!

Thanks for the good critique. :)

I really like the new style. It has more "pop" to it.

Lampton

Posted by Lampton 7 years ago Report

This is one of the first times I utilized reflected light in shading, really helps make it pop out.

There's something about the way you do shading that I really like. Maybe's the amount of gradients each color has? IDK.

(Nice job btw.)

Hazeyoyo123

This style is beautiful, and I'm surprised there is no internal/weight gain this time around.

Lampton

Posted by Lampton 7 years ago Report

There's a lot of internal and weight gain planned for the near future (when I start the next region), so I'm avoiding doing too much of that now, it can get a bit repetitive in the long run.
