Well, this was fun. I find the contrast between their lifeless skulls just sitting there and the happy pictures above hilarious...though I question in-Universe why Rarity put those pictures in her bathroom of all places. I suppose she ran out of room elsewhere in the house.

Glad you enjoyed that detail haha. Yeah the pictures are really just a narrative device to drive home the fact that those bones were recently living ponies with active lives. I don't know why they would be hanging there realistically XD

Their horns were shown melting in the stomach, so presumably hunnter had them made out of something less persistent then bone...or the skulls were literally the only bones to not get melted away.

And VoraciousShapeshift is correct, although I confess it wasn't planned haha. I do usually draw the horns on unicorn skulls, but by the time I got to inking this page I realized I had already drawn them melting off in page 8/9... So I decided to just leave them off here instead of re-doing those pages XD So in this comic I think they were made of cartilage or something instead of bone :P

So glad to see this done, but at the same time it makes me want more! This was sooo perfect! I love how casual spike is, love the digestion sequences, and I’m a huge fan of implied disposal! I would love to see more like this~
