Seeing as how the captain isn't even conscious (knocked out by the debris a few pages back) and the "little" helper is going to need all it's limbs free to escape, I'd say storing the captain inside is the most logical course.

It also means that even if the escape shuttle/pod is a tiny 1-person job, they should fit... but it'll be a tight squeeze. Heh.

Waking up in that tummy might be a bit of a shock tho. Eep! Can't wait for that reaction. >:)
