Get closer is something that could easily be taken as get eaten when asked of a predator.
Niceness depends on a person's morals and their normal attitude. A person who kills regularly might think it's normal to take another life and only perceive a difference based on how they address their victim.
Some people may equate friends with food, so being a friend doesn't necessarily mean they'll just hang out with her normally.
