The first thing Glenn
Kessler noticed when he opened the door was that it was oppressively
hot. A stifling wave of humidity slapped him in the face and
distracted him, so that Trish Sweezy standing in the doorway was only
the second thing he noticed. The two locked eyes for a second,
then looked away immediately.

Padson was in the kitchen when she heard the back door open and her
